Sending emails to a small non-opted in list

I have a client who wants to send 200 emails to past affiliates to see if they might be interested in what he's doing now. These emails are 5 years old and not recently opted in.

I tried to use google docs with gmail but now understand it's no longer available for individuals.

I know I can do this by cutting and pasting subject lines, the person's name and then using "canned response" for the body but sending 200 emails like that will take me all day. Any suggestions?

If it's something you're doing all of the time I'd get an email sending program like MaxBulk Mailer.

If it's a 1 time thing then the way you're doing it is probably the only way.

If you use one subject line and don't personalize the emails you can just put all of the emails in bcc.

Or you can split the emails up into groups of 50 or whatever and use different subject lines for those emails.

But either of those 2 ways involve not personalizing the emails.

After five years the chances are pretty good that only a small portion of those emails are even going to be valid. And most likely, if the messages do get through, the response is going to be dismally minimal.

I wouldn't waste a day sending all those emails by hand. You could put up a squeeze page offer a freebie, and have a double opt-in list of 200 names in short order and they will mostly be fresh ... and it will take you a fraction of a day. Why even raise the question of being a spammer?

The people I was referring to in my post are former affiliates of a now defunct company but who accounted for millions of dollars in sales.

The comment in your reply that especially interested me is getting a squeeze page with a freebie to get 200 double opt ins quickly - how do you do that? I have lots of squeeze pages and after a full year and many ads I only have 1,000 optins. My problem is getting targeted relevant traffic to the landing pages.

If this is something you help with please email me at joemcvoy@gmail.com or call 720-890-8760. Thanks

if you did that to me, i would never work with you ever again and i'm no super affiliate that gets hit with offers every day. These guys see canned, simple "promote my stuff" offers all day long.

AT LEAST write personal emails and try to connect. that would probably give the situation some hope...

I understood the OP to mean they wanted to email past affiliates of their own product. If so - when I'm on the receiving end of an email from a vendor I used to promote for, it doesn't bug me . heck, I used to try to track those guys down myself, just to try to team up on promo's

well, if i wasn't on a list, and got an unsolicited email, that seems copy and paste to me, it doesn't rub me the right way. I say take the time to reach out on a personal level and make the email about them. I think that could work. sorry didn't mean to sound like a jerk
