I'm delving into Facebook ads for one of my sites? Anybody have experience?

Any advice you can offer?

Thanks!

With Facebook it is more important to split test than ever. Not only just images, but dive as deep as you can testing people's likes, age, location, and more. Be prepared to lose money before you find a winning campaign. It is rare to get a profitable campaign from week one.

What type of niche or market are you looking to target?

      It's the "Catch a Cheating Spouse/Boyfriend" Niche.

I've heard that about images. I have a couple of eye-catching ones to use.

And I feel like Facebook is a good place for Relationship-based product advertising. Am I wrong?

The only experience that I have with Facebook Ads is them taking all of my money and me not making any. Be careful.

Testing several different images, text, demographics is the best way to find out which ads convert the most. I have had more success with their ppc option. Also drop your bid per click at least once per day for ads that are converting well. I have often had ads cost $0.90 per click when I start the ad campaign and have dropped it to $0.20 per click within a couple days, while still maintaining a good frequency that each ad is shown.

So cost per click is better than impressions? I would have thought the opposite...glad I asked. I will try that.

I have personally had more success with cost per click. I have heard from others that paid for impressions and it worked fine for them. I think a lot depends on what you are marketing and what you are trying to accomplish.

Same here. I've tried a number of times with zero results.

the only advice i've heard about facebook ads is "dont use facebook ads" lol.

i mean it makes sense. i absolutely HATE the new addition of ads on the timeline and all that. it's one thing surfing the web, researching, reading, browsing, looking to buy and/or learn about something.

But with the placement in facebook, it's like the equivalent of getting a call from a telemarketer. Invasion of your down time, or socializing time. More aggravating than anything else.

Check the demographics of your offer and use it into Facebook, bid just a little bit below the maximum bid, this way you have more chances of increasing you ctr via more quality traffic, use a tracking software, test ads and landing pages, change ad when you get 2000 impressions and ctr below 0.2%.

Facebook is cheap, but it is rough. I don't know if it is because most of those online at this site just aren't in the buying mentality while they are visiting, (who would have thought humans can put in compartments social behaviour and buying?)

I did not have luck there.
