Offering suggestions, without a lot of experience...

I've been very slow to post until now. Being that I'm interested in doing some reviews and I don't have the required 50 post minimum yet, I'm working on getting my numbers up in that respect.

I've been to the Warrior Special Event in Orlando, and I've done a few things over the years. I've said that I have more knowledge than experience. When I read the questions asked, say for example about fiverr today, my thought goes to solutions that I would implement in that situation.

My concern is that as I'm working on building my credibility on the forum, is that I'm doing it without having much to begin with.

    Just because you have knowledge in something does not mean that you should "mentor" others. You need to have some experience to help others and give them some suggestions on any topic.

      I don't believe he said anything about mentoring, simply offering advice. If he has knowledge to share, there's absolutely nothing wrong with sharing it, providing he doesn't imply that it's his own experience.

      OP, don't let lack of experience hold you back. I've offered advice to people on things I haven't actually done, but I always reference the source of said information.

      "I've talked to a lot of people who say x works in this situation" or "So-and-so from x site recommends this solution" are both good ways of doing this without pretending experience that you don't yet have.

      However, if you have all this knowledge, I'd say it's time to start putting it to use in building your own business.

    In time all things are possible. There are always things you can do to help keep conversations on track and focused, and encourage other members. When you help create a good vibe, people start to like you and know who you are. So keep participating and you'll find there are lots of great people here!

    Er, No, not exactly.

    It's very simple really. If you have knowledge, and a subject comes up you think you can advise in, then do so.

    If you post garbage here, you'll soon find out.

    If you make 5 posts a day you will have 150 posts in one month. Many with a post count of 200 consider themselves as authority around here.

    If it's reviews that you are looking to do you can find them in the Hire section. I have seen many Warriors with a low post count give reviews.

    Don't wait--jump in. Your knowledge and opinions count as much as anyone else's. Forums are a good place to establish credibility. Go, go, go!

      You don't have to be an expert to share valuable information. If you can make a contribution to the conversation, by all means do so. Sometimes good answers emerge in the conversation. The conversations sparks different thoughts.

      I worry more about the "so-called" gurus here that seem to know the answer to everything. How do they get their post numbers so high? I don't know. I like to spend a half-hour here when I can, but otherwise I am too busy to be a guru.
