    Since they haven't opted in to you and you're not using their servers to send out offers its very tricky ground according to Spam laws.

        Yea, this is a dirty scenario..

        "through insiders"... "I got a list"... This my friend is a Federal offense inside the USA. Just due to the havoc you could cause with Phishing and other frauds.

        I'm pretty new to this forum, But i'm most certain that this forum isn't the forum you want to use to advertise dirty dealings. That said.... I would trash the list and not let greed, impatience, and lack of self-discipline deter me from building my own.

      Yeah could be thin ice but maybe you could use WordPress on your domain as an auto response and send an email that's something like "subscription cancellation final email" and get em to sign g up for your list but I id look into it more before taking action

    An unresponsive list of 140k (or any number for that matter) is worth less then a responsive list of only 1000 subscribers.

    How do I know this list will be unresponsive?

    Because they have not subscribed to your mail outs, you have not built a relationship with these subscribers, they do not have any trust in you, they do not know who you are, thus have no reason to purchase anything from your mail outs.

    It really is a case of do it right or don't do it at all.

    Also on a legal note this does classify a spam.
