Amazon Affiliates - Paid on Everything?

Newbie question here - should be easy to answer I am assuming. Does the Amazon Affiliates program pay on everything listed on Amazon? In other words, Amazon sells:

1.) Amazon's own products
2.) Products owned by a 3rd party and shipped or "fulfilled" by Amazon
3.) Products owned and shipped by 3rd parties (just selling through Amazon)

I scanned the Operating Agreement and other info pages on Amazon, but couldn't find any mention of anything that is excluded.

Good to know, thanks! I was doubting if they would pay on the 3rd party products (especially the ones that aren't even fulfilled by them), but I won't waste my time trying to understand their business model - now that I know it all counts, then I'm good to go.

No, unfortunately this is not so. If you look in the TOS there is a long, and growing longer, list of products for which Amazon does not pay a commission. There were a few threads on this in the forum last year.

Is this excluded list just an overall category of products (like say, electronics)? Or is it excluding ALL products that are sold via 3rd parties? I just went and looked once again at the Operating Agreement and the only exclusions I could see dealt with timing of purchase, linking errors/violations, etc.

They still collect a commission on those.

It changes from time to time so you should check on Amazon to ensure you do not promote products which do not offer commissions. The list is not so big to make a difference but I have made the error of promoting products and then finding out that they do not pay on them.

    Here is the current list

As it was not enough that you are paid a comission only if the customer adds something to the cart on his first session at amazon, and that you are not paid if the user clicks on a ad that drives him to another product. More, they have a lot of products that they do not give any comission.

With Amazon you've just got to keep up to date with their Terms and Conditions; they change all the time.

When they do change I usually get an email with a brief synopsis of the changes though.

No, no, no...they don't pay on EVERYTHING....they have a section (I wish I could help you here and provide a link, but I stopped messing with Amazon awhile ago) that has a LIST of things they WILL NOT pay you for....and they seem to be adding to that list on a regular basis. Correct me if I am wrong everyone.
