Building a list in the List Building Niche?

I know a lot of people do this, building a list in the List Building Niche... But isn't it a dumb thing to do?

Just having mixed thoughts on that..

What do you think?

    The title made me smile!

If there is something you can still teach and provide to other list builders you can still make it work, however I would recommend having your own products.

There are certainly also some advantages like potentially getting a much higher Click rate, since your list knows how it works. You will find out faster then ever if you are doing a good job etc

This subject has always been around, promoting products as affiliate to affiliates for example. They can simply enter their own affiliate ID and take the sale.

You will need to work with a different plan, such as not promoting Clickbank products to them but products such as Auto-responders, where it's not that easy to (or people don't bother, or not allowed) buying under their own affiliate links.

Working with JV's can work a lot as well, being able to provide a bigger discount for a product then they could get under their own affiliate link. Providing bonuses they might be interested in etc...

You need to get a lot more creative and that's why I prefer the Noobs. You can pretty much run them down through everything, starting with a basic Clickbank product all the way up to getting them to sign-up for Hosting, Autoresponders etc etc...

I love the list building niche... I even built a new brand around it for 2013.... List Building Maniacs.

Not sure why you think it's stupid. It's a very popular topic here on the forum and in business altogether. Every business should have list building going on in their system. List building practices don't always mean emails too.

Yea, one think i like to take note of is that there will always be newcomers trying to learn a thing or two about building a list.

I think it is fine and if you teach them something cutting-edge, they will be more willing to spend with you. Getsubscribers.com will help you get a list faster as well.

Not if you have something of value to offer and actually know how to build a list in that specific niche. It is a market that has proven to make money for those who have the skills to do it.

It is just taking advantage of what it hot right now. That said. Some people are spamming the s**t out out of their readers for clicks and there is a bunch of shady stuff going on right now.

Just seems like it is the money that matters not the person who entered their email. Seems to keep people from succeeding with extra insane info overwhelm. Then you have the people who get it and treat their list with respect and those people will stand the test of time.

I think it is a great idea. There are so many bad list builders where if you understand how to build a list and can teach others the correct way. They will love you for helping them and giving them true results.

You would be surprised how many people know they need a list but don't fully understand how to.

The list building niche is technically still part of the IM/MMO niche.

But yeah, it's a fantastic idea to start with the list building "niche" since it already gets your subscribers started with the absolute best money making method online.

Building a list in the list building niche allowed me to quit my job and go full time. I just had my 3rd six figure year...

In my opinion, the list building niche is one of the best niches to enter...

Now, granted there is no sexy mass appeal like "make money online" - but if you work the list building niche correctly you will actually (in my opinion) end up with a better list...

    Why?

Well, here's why I think this is true...

Most marketer's that want to learn (or already know a little) about list building normally have "more" knowledge than your average IMer.

So, if you teach them how to build a list and make money from that list they will be on YOUR list for a much much much longer time.

I've had people that have been on my list for over 3 years now - some have even went on to partner with me on launches and membership sites...

On second though.... Don't build a list in the list building niche - it is dumb

    Cheers,
    Coby

The money is in the list but most people don't know how. So if you can show it to them in a step by step fashion you will be providing value and gaining trust in return.

Yes they say the money is in the list but it is only there if you have built a relationship with that list and given good content to them.
Unless you build a good relationship with your list - you will not be able to sell them anything.
List building is your key to success online.

Everyone involved in MMO should have a list. OUTSIDE of MMO. I really like listbuilding so I have build a list there.

But I try my best to get my subscribers to build other Niches. Weight Loss is a great niche. So many Cross sells. Get out of the eBook market and send physical products to your list and HOLD ON!

    Just my 2 cents

Every fifth topic here is about list building lol.. Its something that is ever changing and an essential skill to be any kind of successful in IM... People will ALWAYS need to know how to capture an audience, ALWAYS. I have a product that is launching the 1st of Feb as well in the "list building" niche of list building while building a list MWAHAHA

But yeah... It's vitally important, and always changing... An opportunity-ridden niche to master thats for sure.

I would strongly recommend building 2 lists. One in the list building niche if you want and another in some non IM related niche.

The reason is; what you learn in building your list building list will absolutely rock it in another non sales savvy market.

Lololol. The title gave me a smile, too. If you can provide real value in a way that others do not and/or cannot, then you should not hesitate to jump into the niche that you are considering.

    definitely not dumb...

most marketers are always looking to implement new list building strategies and it's especially relevant on the warrior forum. There are so many list-building products and free guides on here, not to mention all the threads...

All in all I think it's a great sub-niche and the audience is getting wider and wider.

Certainly, one of the most toughest niches in IM. Mainly targeting Newbies. Got to have new ideas/methods to entice viewers to subscribe. However, my list building list is the most profitable. This list is one that is willing to pay if you can show them value in your products. Definitely My VIP list.

A lot of people here will prob know that I've been building my list in this niche for a while

It's going well and good fun but one thing I will say to anyone thinking about entering this niche to build your list around is (you had better know more than the average person about list building)

You do need of done your homework in order for you to be able to create products and give advice and tips around list building but this pretty much applies to any niche that you go into

Before you start, make sure you actually know something extra that will make you an authority figure rather than someone just selling a modified PLR about basic listbuilding.

Personally I love the funnel side of listbuilding and creating a relationship.

I teach people to use personal branding, use blogging in the follow-up series, and just generally pick niches which suit their personality. If you've never made more than 4 figures a month online then it's pretty stupid to give away a report claiming how easy it is to make a living online.

Stick to a niche where you have passion and apply proven list building tactics to it.

It's still worth it but of course its the quality of the list that counts.

Mine has about a 30% conversion rate for anything I send out so its just the work you have to put in building one that keeps most away.

of course its necessary - if you have users opting in before they do/dont make a purchase - you can generate easily another 20-30% in revenue using a well written campaign over the next days after opt in

I think the email marketing section is exclusive to paid members. People still use/read emails in 2012. Hence its worth it.

It is depending on if your are doing Blackhat or whitehat and most importantly the NICHE you are on and the way you are getting subscribers.
Yes its still to date brings bread n butter to lot of internet marketers.

I think it's just the same thing as making money by teaching people how to make money. If its Ok, why not building a list teaching people how to build a list.

There's this person that I follow in the list building niche, and without him I couldn't get all the strategies and tactic to build a list of more than 1000 today.
