Your views of my new website venture, please.

I have just started a website which will offer news (political and entertainment).
There are alot of blogs around and especially 2 to 3 other websites which do offer news regularly and I'd say effectively.
I will have to add more than what they do and have already started doing so.

I'm in the southern Africa country and here is my website.

Any views and advises welcome,

    Hi bukavu,

    nice website.. I think it looks pretty good for news website..
    You have one blank box on the right upper corner, why is that? Is that a ad block not monetized yet? Or it's a bug?

          Yes, thank you for pointing that out, I still have to get more pictures as it's reserved for photos, I also want to add Links to my youtube, facebook and twitter account on top of the blue photo window.

            Looks nice!

            If I were being really picky I'd say in your columns under the slideshow - "latest stories" needs to start with just a bit more gap between the writing and the top of the column - it looks a little squeezed up and the rest of your writing has a little more space. This is the same at the top of your third column.

      The empty space is reserved for advertisers, I didn't want to put adsense there, I want to use it for local events and ads.
      This is a copy of another website I started in 2005 with a new design from 2012.
      I noticed that it is giving me a small amount that's why I want to expand to other countries I'm connected to and double the income.

    Look fantastic through I don't understand the content.
    One suggestion: can u have the subscription box placed on top/ more sightly area?

    Nice website but there is a grey empty area to the right for me also. I guess it is for banner ads?

    Looks decent to me....

    The font is large enough, but barely. Remember, that old eyes are turned off by small font and they won't hang around long enough to increase the page size. But it's good enough I think.

    Stick with original content or die.

    Get better at your key words. SEO is not dead. Even Matt Cutts will still tell you that you need to have EVERY key word included so Google knows what your site is about.

    Google is about relevancy. That is all. The more their search engine can see what your site is about, the higher rank you will have. Just learn about the difference between proper SEO and web spam and STICK WITH IT.

      I have two questions though:
      1. More than 50% of the content of my website is fetched from other online published materials, you scare me by saying "Stick with original content or die." and at the same time you remind me that I have to get people to write news materials for me.
      My question is, what happens if most of the contents on my website is copied (some with permission) from other online published material?
      2. I heard Wordpress had a very good SEO, should I add, buy another one?
      b. Which one is best?

        If the content is copied, it should be with permission, unless you just use small excerpts and then add more of your own content to the post (such as in curation). If you don't have permission to use that content, you could get into trouble.
