Something very weird is happening??

I have just written a new post on my blog and when I enter the full URL into Google, the page comes up. I posted this 2 hours ago.

I wrote a post about viral marketing 3 days ago but when I put the URL into Google search, that page doesn't come up.

Can someone help me please. My signature is the post which is not being found in Google. Click home to find my post, that I posted 2 hours ago which IS being found.

Thanks

Sorry to bug anybody but this is really bothering me.

Maybe try (re)submitting a sitemap to Google, it just sounds like a timing thing, the bots crawled your most recent post first

I noticed your URL ends with a "-2" which means that at some point you had the same URL for a different article, and since this is a new one, Wordpress automatically adds the "-2" in the slug..

Is this the case? If not, why would you have the "-2" added in your url?

To be honest, I have no clue why it isnt indexed, BUT from experience the little details make a difference.. in this case the "-2" could be the culprit...

I have never made a post like this before, what should I do?
I tried to change the 2 to make it normal but it doesn't let me.
      What should I do?

go into your wp database and find the original slug. Wordpress does add the -2 because the same url is already in the database..

maybe you started writing the post... saved as draft... then deleted it.. even if you delete a post from your wp install, the database will continue to have that entry in the tables...

So... my bet is to find that in the wp database and erase it from there... then change the URL in your blog post "edit post", and once is done, resubmit the sitemap to google...

There is a nice plugin called "Google XML Sitemap" that will update and send the sitemap to google every time you post a new post/page to your blog.

There are times when some of your blog posts here in the forum or any other place will not get picked up by Google for a week or two. Sometimes even longer. I have articles, for example, that I wrote last week and posted them on my website and they got indexed by Google.

On the other hand, I had a few articles that I wrote 1 month ago and it is no where to be seeing.

Some will and some won't.....You just have to be persistent with your posts or articles and know that not all of them will get picked up by Google.

That does tend to happen every so often. What I always try to do after making a new blog post is pinging my website. This alerts the google bot crawlers to crawl my website and alerts them that my site has updated.

Yeah, well Wordpress does it anyway and my blog posts get indexed into Google really quickly all the time. This was the first time its ever happened but that was my own fault and not Googles lol
