Total Newbie's Traffic-Getting Guide?

Before you get a chicken, you've gotta have an egg. No, wait a sec...

I'm wondering what the strategies are that someone totally new to Internet marketing can use to get people looking at their brand-new page.

Whether it's affiliate, products, services, or an email-harvester page, here are the few I've found so far.

- SEO in all its myriad of occasionally painful forms, including posting articles to directories for back-links, etc.
- Setting up social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, Youtube) and interacting with people in the target market
- Finding forums related to the target market, and tastefully interacting with them
- Paid advertising (pay-per-click, WSO)
- Putting up a product in an affiliate program (ClickBank)

What are your suggestions?

Yes, the information you mention here is good enough for someone. But it should be in details for a new comer to implement. Anyway, how about checking the link for driving traffic in affiliate marketing -

Some different source of Driving Traffic to your Affiliate Links

Ebay is always a better source for driving traffic. I think this video will help someone to some extent.

Create a blog and add regular posts.

Place links on your blog back to your landing page or have a signup form on the blog itself.

Get your blog listed onTechnorati (blog directory)

What is missing from the list is the most important aspect of it: volume.

So when you think of the steps to getting traffic to your links - remember that volume is also key especially with certain monetization methods.

What most newbies don't understand is that it takes quality work with quality content in order to get quality traffic. And quality work is defined depending on which monetization method you are implementing at your destination url.

Yeah, volume seems like the hardest thing both to come by and to understand. Starting from zero and figuring with 1-10% click rate/conversion factors along the way, getting hundreds or thousands of people a day to visit your page looks like an impossible task.

Can you give any examples of quality work that gets the kind of volume we all know we need?

Solo ads. Fastest and most effective.. But you need a good sale page to convert.
As a start, just sell affiliate product.

Free classified ads sites other than craigslist ie Backpage, Becanada. Some where on the forum there is a great explanation as to how becanada works, but I cant remember where it is. Basically, the free version of becanada (becanada dot com) allows to place a classified ad in around 10 classified ad directories with a single post.
