Speaking in general terms and not in specifics regarding a target group of people or niche, what is the best paid traffic service that in your opinion is "hands down, the best service"?

      Smart A** lol!

      Let me re-phrase it then.

      If you had a customer that had an online dating site, a how to make beer site and owned his own offline homicide clean up business and you could only get him to use one method of paid advertising, what would you recommend?

    In my experience the answer is it depends.

    It depends on the business model you are running with the product the niche etc.

    The traffic source's that have worked best for me have been

    banners

    solo ads

    Give aways

      The two I have a lot of experience with are solo ads and giveaways. The one thing I would say is that it's like anything in IM working online - you need to really get to know your traffic sources and how best to exploit them.

      You can, for example, waste a lot of time and money on solos but once you sort out the wheat from the chaff, so to speak, it works well.

      As some of the guys have said - it also depends on what you're setting out to achieve in the first place. For example, if you're looking to build a list to sell affiliate products to there are different considerations (segmentation for example) than if you are building a solo ad business.

      That statement is a little generalized but it makes the point.

      The other thing is to bear in mind you don't have to master EVERY traffic generation technique. 2 or 3 are plenty - rather dig more deeply into a limited number than spread yourself too thin!

    For me its doing promoted posts on Facebook. The regular ads are terrible. The post has to be something meaningful. For instance, when I release a new royalty free music track, I make a post of it, and promote it. I gets lots of clicks, posts and page likes.

    "homicide clean up business" I though you were joking until I googled it - dang... what a business! Kind of scary to think they are that BUSY.

    For a biz like that, I DK if PPC would be the best route as most of the ads are geared towards the training of running your own biz like this. Police will not be searching, they already know who to call.

    So, best to go where your audience would be.

    You must test test test several paid traffic services, until you find best ROI then you use it several times for more sales or more leads.

    In my 12 years of internet marketing... google adwords, by far,
    had given me the best ROI.

    I've spent $10,000 plus on direct mail, I've done $500 ad buys
    in Men's Health and Muscle and Fitness, and have used every
    other source of traffic I could find. Facebook, Bing, etc...
    and every single time, Adwords beat them all, in a big way,
    when it comes to ROI.

    I've always believed it's because with adwords, you've
    got people who are actively searching for something...
    versus most other forms of advertising... you're an
    interruption.

    However, due to all the "slaps" and bans with adwords,
    that source has become tough to use continuously.

    So, if I had only one choice... i'd go with media buys
    that are targeted to your niche. If you can find a good
    media buyer to work with, they can get all the traffic
    you can handle... even though you have to have a bigger
    budget to start.

    Google AdWords. There's a reason Google alone gets 44% of all online advertising spending despite not controlling nearly that large a share of the traffic.

    Email traffic. If you manage to get someone to recommend your offer to their list, you get to borrow some of the trust and goodwill that has been built so far between the list owner and the subscribers. So, it will no longer be "cold traffic" and will convert a lot better than the usual methods.

    That's what converted best for me so far.

    * Relevant and quality content on your site (you might pay for research and content development)
    * Adwords campaigns
    * Stumbleupon paid discovery
    * Press releases
    * High quality content by professional authors (for press releases, other content)
    * Content marketing through effective distribution
    * Video creation and distribution

    Use those things together, consistently - get great results. It's that simple.

    I've always been quite fond of banner ads, they have produced probably the highest ROI for my than any other form of paid traffic. Plus I knwo a way to get banners on sites with no money out of pocket. So that is always nice

      Great question.

      Funny how when you bumped this old thread all the responses were to the original question and they all completely missed the fact that the thread was old (the OP WASN'T looking for a response anymore) and your question was the relevant/current question.

      Anyway regarding Media Buys... buysellads.com is good. Solo Ads... go to safe-swaps.com.

        Hi Brian,

        Haha, the more funny part is even I didn't realize that the thread is old until you mentioned it
        Though a member of WF, I always search for what I want in WF via google search, that's how I bumped in.

        Thank you for your answer, could you suggest any WSO trainings so that I will have a shorter learning curve ?

    There was a course by Ryan Diess a while ago called penny traffic or something - fb advertising. Anyone use that? Maybe fb advertising is a cheap place to start.

    Already said, but it really depends on what you promote.

    I found Facebook ads were the best ROI BUT that's because I was targeting people to "like" my fan pages... and I monetised from that point on.

    However, If I had used the same advert platform (FB) towards other offers outside Facebook, I would not have gotten such good results.

    Adwords...? I lost my shirt with them a few times... so not my best ROI, unlike other warriors here

      Based my experience, it doesn't matter what strategy you employ but you have to become an expert in that method.

      Conversely, you will start out with a couple and then you see what bring the most traffic and then you zero in on that method.

      But what ever the outcome you're going to work on it often, like everyday!
