Online Membership Software for Training College

Hi,

Can anyone recommend website member software to run a training program online for students?

My client wants to convert his current 5 day training course to a online distance learning course online.

There are about 50-100 students per month and the content will be about 16 hours of video training and then normal pdf downloads.

I have seen Wishlist Member and looks good regarding price. They say it can handle 500+ members and they recommend dedicated server for the website. I have seen Matt Carter use it for his ewealthblueprint course and looks good.

Can any person second Wishlist member, or is there something better out there regarding functionality, flexibility and usability?

I am not tech savvy. I know how to load WP.

Thank you for your help.

Regards

Colin

The most user friendly theme I have come across is Optimize Press. They have many tutorial videos on how to use the theme. You can make anything from websites to membership sites. It covers pretty much everything and the sites look very clean and professional to make you look like a pro. If you build a membership site with that software when your students sign up they will be impressed.

      Thank you Andre.

Optimize Press looks good and the prize too!

Have you used it as a membership site? Will it can handle 100 users per day?

        Hi Colin,

I would recommend MemberGate. Having used various membership software programs in the past few years, I would definitely say this is the business.

You may have heard of Bill Myers, who is highly respected among product developers. He took a whole year a while back to create this bad boy. And that's the key to its reliability and success: it's been round a long time - long enough for all the bugs to be ironed out of it.

If you can do WordPress, then you're overqualified for MemberGate it's that simple and logical to use.

        Warmest regards,

        Paul

If you want to stack the copywriting deck in your favor with tricks and hacks producing winners like: "$20K in three days" "650 sold" "30% conversion", then you might like to know I'm retiring and will spill the beans to two people. More info here.

I have both Optimize Press and S2member.

Optimize Press you have to pay for and is easier. S2member is free and is my next best. Both will have everything you will ever need.

OptimzePress, while robust and powerful, is still just a theme. It does not offer any "member" functionality. You will need to integrate some other sort of plugin along with it. OptimizePress cannot, by itself, protect pages.

You'll need to integrate it with S2Member or Wishlist or some other service.

There is plenty of information about it, including video tutorials on the OptimizePress site.

I know they are coming out with an updated version, and maybe this will be included I don't know, but as far as I know. you need a third party option to actually secure the pages. OptimizePress alone will not do that.

You are 100% correct. I thought it did have a members section which is untrue.

Sorry for the confusion. I should of looked at my plugin first

Thank you for correcting me and not letting wrong information out to the public.

I think most popular membership systems will work for you- wishlist/amember etc..

You would create a new 'product' for each group of students (for tracking etc..) and allow acess to the content for each of these groups. You could then also give the same general content to all groups, and custom content to each group.

OptimizePress will create a member section of your website, but it won't actually secure the pages.

Thank you very much for all your input. I appreciate it a lot.

Looks like I need to have a look at Wishlist and Amember again.
