Attention Warriors! Bypass possible HDD security problem!

Greetings.

Did a similar case happen to somebody? I didn't think it will happen to me -- because I was cautious enough always (I thought at least). Or not ... after all?

In short: I use a 60 GB and a 180 GB hard disc drive. The bigger one is for general purpose, the smaller one is for my own writing. When I'm working on my own articles and ebooks then I changing the HDDs according to. Because would have been a little refine on them -- these were sitting on that hard disc. I used the AVG for protect my computer, and run virus checking when I remembered sometimes. But everything was fine always.

The story started when I got messages from Paul Myers and others about Conficker -- MANY THANKS for the heads up anyway! It's great if you have friends.

I believed it, at me it's all right. Let's see. Yes. Presently the 180 GB hard disc is in. So I checked it by Confickertest and saw that everything is well. Fine. I checked my emails and read the forum for a little. It's ten o' clock. Okay, it's time to work on one of my ebooks. Changed on to the smaller hard disc drive. I knew where did stop it last time.

Voila. But ... what is it? What the heck is this unintelligible HOTCHPOTCH?:confused: How did this get here? And where are my ebooks and belonging graphycs? They must be here. I know. I worked with one of them a week ago. Turned off. Did I make something wrong? What can I do?

I'm unfamiliar with technical nitty gritty so I called someone. He came after a hour. He is an expert. He'll find a solution, I hoped. Okay, he switched on and worked quickly. I holded my breath back. He stated that the entire hard drive is infected by virus and spy programs. I replied I use AVG for protection. He said: AVG is good but isn't able to protect against every new kind viruses.

What is the solution? He said he can remote it only by re-formatting the whole hdd. After a short thinking I paid the travel allovance and told him thank you, so he went away.

Can you visualize that situation?... I despaired ... my blood pressure went up! Nonsense! Maybe he was wrong! We don't leave this at that! I wasn't born yesterday!

I phoned another expert. He came and said too: the best and safe what he can to do is to re-format the hard disk and set up new antivirus program. Of course my content flew away.

Oh my gosh! My two years' work!

You see, I was in a need for a fast solution to protect my system against new infections. He said I may be glad that one of the hard discs became infected only. So he analyzed the hdd and detected 175 items in all my files. He found items in every sector of my hdd.

I told him to do the best what he can. He spent nearly three hours in my office, and I don't want to list what he made. The essence is that I'm protected now. He trained me what do I need to make regurarly and we scheduled his next visit to do a maintenance. I paid him a nice sum. He drove away. I was rage.

Then I went out to the garden and observed the bees on the blossoms. I calmed down after about twenty minutes.

Bottom line.

Ladies and gentlemen! It's time to laugh! Let us be laughing together! I wanted to make a CD backup for my works but thought the transformation time will be good after their finishing.

I also can only laugh on my stupidity -- albeit I lost my babies. But, never mind. I will to switch my brain in higher speed and will working smarter. After all, you can rewrite CDs, too.

You know, there is a saying over here: "The lazy one tires two times." Is this true, what do you think?
