Guest Posting and My Blog Guest...

Hello, Everyone: I'm fairly new to the blogging world. I have a book review site up now for about 6 months. Like most beginners, I'm struggling to get some traffic. I've submitted 2 articles that I wrote: one to E zine articles and one to Hub pages .

Anyway, a mentor of mine suggested I try guest posting on other blogs. After doing some research, I came across a site called "My Blog Guest". This site is supposed to connect quality blogs with folks trying to guest post their content.

Has anyone hear ever had dealing with "My Blog Guest"? Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you
Reginald

I have not personally been on that site, but I've found a way that works for me and I'm sure many other people.

Great suggestion, and here's what I do - I will look for blog directories and search through them. Look for ones in my niche and read through. Check to see how active they are and what kind of comments they are getting. You want to see real visitors with real comments, not spammy ones that the blog owner isn't even moderating.

From there simply contact the blog owner and see if they are interested in Guest Blogging. Most bloggers are as it gives them a chance to Guest on your blog as well. Exposure all around, never a bad thing. Networking is awesome.

Like most beginners, I'm struggling to get some traffic. I've submitted 2 articles that I wrote: one to E zine articles and one to Hub pages .
If this is the way you are choosing to drive traffic to your site, you will need A LOT more than 2 articles. And by a lot...I mean a TON!

At the risk of starting a range war, I'm going to suggest that if the articles are good, the OP doesn't really need "a TON" more articles. I do agree that two isn't enough, but it's a start.

What the OP really needs is to have their articles in many more places, in front of many more potential eyeballs.

I'd much rather have a handful of effective articles in dozens of well-trafficked, targeted places than dozens of half-assed articles in one or two ineffective places.

Hello John, and thanks. As I said to LWYSIWYG, I know I need more than 2 articles. I'm just starting out, and I'm slow as molasses. It amazes me how some of the marketers that I'm following are so prolific. Anyway, thanks an awful lot.

Oh, I know that I need more than two articles. I'm just starting out and besides, I write slow. Anyway, I've read different things from different folks. Many imply that article writing (to Ezine Articles, etc) is not as effective as it once was. Anyway, thanks for the help. Appreciate it.

For guests posts you can simply go to Google and enter a query to find top ranking blogs that accept guest submissions. I find the following work great when added with your target niche keyword:

      “Guest Post”
      “Add Content”
      “Group Writing Project”
      “Blogs that Accept Guest Posts”
      “Write for Us”
      “Guest Bloggers Wanted”
      “Submit Your Article”
      “Submit Article”
      “Add Your Article”
      “Become a Writer”
      “Become a Contributor”
      “My Guest Posts”
      “Submission Guidelines”
“This Guest Post was Written By”
“The follow guest post was made by”
      “Suggest a Post”
      “Bloggers Wanted”

I won't say that I have personal experience with MyBlogGuest because it's too obvious, but here's another thread here where many people have had lots to say about our platform.

There is a much easier way than having to do that whole process manually.

A great site I signed up for is BloggerLinkup.com ..I'm in the same boat as you as I just started my blog. You make a request to guest blog on other blogs and get frequent emails directly from other blogs who are interested in what you have to offer. It's been working well for me. Cheers!

If you want any real traffic from posting in EZA and other directories your going to need 2 things.
    A- Great content
    B- A lot of it

As far as guest posting goes, Use google's blog search type in your keyword and start emailing blog owners asking if they would like to build a relationship in which you write content for their site and they cont. to drive traffic. You would be surprised just how many people are willing to do this.

I haven't visited the My Blog Guest site and I am not a good blogger.
But I know that blog commenting on other blog is a good source of traffic to your.
Submit your blogs in any blog directories and I am sure a lot of traffic that will be generated.

    Hi Learfan,

While I haven't personally had experience with My Blog Guest, I would like to make a non affiliated recommendation. There is a young blogger who really knows whats up when it comes to guest posting, and he provides a free guest blogging guide when you sign up to his list.

His website is called 'Young Pre Pro', ( youngprepro.com ) and you can click on his 'guest blogging' tab to find out how to sign up for his guide.

He is just 19, and recently just started a blog from scratch to see if he could duplicate his results from the first blog he created when he was yet younger. He did duplicate his success ahead of scheduled in only like two months I think, and provides great content. He doesn't spam his list, and is a real & honest person. He uses guest blogging as one of his primary tools to generate traffic & business, and is definitely worth checking out.

As I mentioned, this is not a paid or requested endorsement - just my personal high opinion of this legit guest blogger.

Hope this gives you some good direction.

    Happy Blogging!

Guest bloggers are a way to get back links and I have no experience with My Blog Guest. But, you really need a lot more content. My blog gets 900 to 1700 pageviews a day but I have about 190 articles on the blog.

I have only one guest blogger but his information was quite acceptable and I am sure pulls traffic, but in blogs, more is better as long as it is quality.

My blog is a "blogger blog" and is a mosaic of pictures and when you hove over a picture the article title associated with the photo pops up. This is an example of a site that gets over a 1000 page views a day. It doesn't make much money yet but I can tell you from my experience this is what is needed for that kind of traffic.

Imagine, hundreds of books reviewed from the photo covers instead of remodeling stuff?

I haven't heard of that website but guest blogging is a great way to gain traffic.

Try contact websites similar to yours and ask the owner if they would be willing to post one of your articles on their website, in return you do the same.

It can be difficult to achieve because your website must be well designed, have good quality content and a strong back linking profile.

Noone wants to be associated with a website that has spun content and 1000's of spam comments as back links.

Do you have good writing skills? This is a must
