Regarding Web 2.0 Content

Hi Everyone,

I have a question regarding the web 2.0 page content i.e., we have created a web 2.0 page using some content, can we use the same content in doing Article Submissions. Is it a good practice or not. Please let me know.

Thanking You In Advance......

    Hi,
Most reputable article submission directories do copyscape test and will tell you, that you need to submit original content even though its your own... its just triggers google bots in duplicate content and google does not do a comparison on who actual owns the content except that its a duplicate... my suggestion would be to always submit fresh content... I been doing SEO for about 3 years and I always got good results for original content!

To be honest it is a bad practice... it was acceptable some months ago known as article syndication where we mention we copied this article from that source.....

    Although try to avoid this......

Use unique and high quality content for web 2.0 sites. This is because some of the sites would get ranked in the SERP so that it would bring you traffic.

I have always posted articles on my own site (blog) 48 hours before posting them on a submission site (usually Ezinearticles.com). There has never been a penalty for this practice. Many submission sites are okay with it as long as your article is your article and not rehash in the first place. Some might not allow it. I write unique articles and have never been rejected. It's preferable to have your own work on your own site first so you get the best benefit of the traffic they produce. The only benefit of putting them on a submission site is that others will pick them up to post on their sites or in their own newsletters - there's not much candy in that back link you get to the submission site.

Considering the latest Google updates, you have to be careful with rehashed content. Most article submission sites nowadays require that your articles are unique so they may decline them and can just be a pure waste of time for you. So, it is best you use original and valuable content for each.

We have plenty of web 2.0 sites and we make sure to post unique content on each of them, copyscaped, all the bells and whistles.

Google has become a content duplicators worst enemy. If the search engine giant Google sees duplicate content, all your efforts will be in vain if you get penalized.

    This is completely wrong.

Article directories do not require previously unpublished content.

In any case, you mean "unique", not "original": they're two entirely different things.

(Many Web 2.0 sites do, though).

No ... this is all wrong. Now you're confusing "duplicate content" with "syndicated content". The differences between the two are explained in this post and this little article.

It depends (of course) on the terms of service of the sites to which you submit it.

Article directories won't have a problem with it (but you won't benefit from submitting it to more than one or two of them anyway).

The Web 2.0 site on which you've already published it may well have a problem with it, though.

Never submit content to any sites you don't yourself own without reading their terms of service.

No criticism intended, but I think you've rather misunderstood the purpose and function of content syndication (and looking at some of the replies you've had, above, it's not surprising that people do, with the blind leading the partially sighted ).

The links inside the post I've linked to just above are a good starting-place for information about this widely misunderstood subject, and post #6 of that same thread may also help you.

I can honestly say that I have used this before. However, the site was a Weebly site that I did not really think would take off. The site did take off at times, but even then it is only getting traffic because of back links not from the search engines that I wish it was getting!
