Which provider offers single opt-in?

Will you please tell me which list provider offer single optin service. Seems getresponse no longer support this feature. I tried aweber seems not working also.

I thought AWeber did offer a single optin as an option.

I use 1shoppingcart.com which allows single optins as an option, but thats an e commerce platform, and not just an autoresponder service

Aweber definitely allows it although they try to put you off it.

I have a list on single optin with them and I know a lot of marketers who do too. If you are having trouble setting it up then contact their support. They have excellent support and are very helpful in my experience.

    Good luck with your business.

Aweber's single opt-in will still send a notification e-mail for the subscription to the subscriber... And yes, they really try hard at getting you to stay "double" by default.

Never had this happen before. Just tested my single opt-in yesterday and there was no notification message sent prior to the first follow up message.

Aweber still has single optin. I use them and always have that option when creating a list

    GetResponse Also Allow it.
Just go to your campaign settings and disable the double opt in.

    Hi,

    Not so edpudol1973,

Of course GetResponse offers the option of single optins as always. Thanks Super for pointing that out.

I'm not sure where you got that idea, but always feel free to ping our customer care people and they'll be happy to answer questions or explain how-to.

Aweber is crapola and old technology. Everyone loves to use their name when talking about email for some reason. Try Benchmark, they are more modern and so easy a caveman could do it. (No Affiliate in any way shape or form, I just love it)

        Hi Joseph,

How much "showing" would you like? Drop by our learning center and do a search and you'll get the step-by-step instructions on this. Or I'll be happy to explain it to you directly via Skype anytime.

We allow single opt-ins and it's a simple matter of disabling the confirmation option in your settings. Of course imported lists will be tested by our compliance department to be sure they don't have any issues before we approve them.

Folks, Jim is quite helpful with questions about GetResponse, but you really need to remember something: This is not the GR (or Aweber, or iContact, etc) help desk.

            Paul
Thanks Paul and I do try to add some value which is about online marketing in general and not always about GetResponse. We only have a handful of reps here (that I know of) and I know a couple of others who I admire for doing that.

Paul's right though...this is not the (insert AR name here) help desk. I want to answer questions and help whenever I can, but consider sometimes that it might be better if you contact me directly via Skype, Twitter or PM if it's very specific to GR. This is NOT an imposition. I will either have the answer of find someone who does.

Thanks Paul for putting up with me.

            Regards,
            jim

It's not called advertising when responding to posts with a question that names the business specifically, Les. If it is, then you need to disallow the questions, don't you think?

Well, until it's against the rules to ask the questions, it seem unfair to chastise the person answering the question.

To be clear about Aweber, you can have single opt in via their webform. But but using the API or an upload.
                      Here is their answer:
The only way subscribers are able to be added
to an AWeber account without the confirmation message is through a web form
submission from a unique IP address. Any subscribers added via API, Import,
Email Parser, or the "Add" page will be required to confirm.

Would it have been advertising had I been the one to post the response to the OP?

See, the thing is I don't really know the answer (not first hand, anyway). I would much rather have a rep for the company respond, than to have several un-qualified responders give conflicting answers - at least half of which MUST be wrong!

If the rep hadn't supplied an answer, the OP would have been left totally in the dark - or more confused than when he started. If the rep had responded via PM, everyone else would have been confused by the many inaccurate answers given by the others.

The question was asked publicly and everyone got to see the responses. The "sin" isn't that a company rep gave an authoritative answer - it's that so many "without a clue" responses were given by others.

Sorry I've continued the off topic discussion, but then maybe you should have addressed your response to Paul... via PM. Then there would have been no need.
