I need advice regarding paypal dispute!

Hello,

I'm so pissed of today and I'm hardly able to write now but I need your help and advice please..Here's what happened:

I had a client who bought a service from me -setting up a business e-commerce website- and everything was going smoothly..he paid, I started to work, it took me 10 days to develop the website and two more days to set up everything on his server..website gone live, I provided him with complete marketing plan also, even created ads for him and did some initial KW research..

After the whole this work has been done, he disputed the sale on PayPal indicating that he never received the item.. what a great client huhhh..

Now, I know PayPal can resolve this on my benefit because it's intangible item, but I just don't know what to say in my reply correctly since I have never got a dispute before..I sold hundreds and hundreds products and services and never had a dispute, so this is totally new for me..

Please advise how to reply in paypal's resolution center..

Thanks in advance..any advice is highly appreciated

First, state in your response that this was a service you provided (they don't refund services usually). Second, upload the files you sent him to your server or a file sharing site. Include the link(s) in the response, stating that just in case he lost the files you already sent, here are the links for him to get them again.

You should win without an issue.

Paypal will most likely rule in your favor if you simply state that it was a digital download.

      Hi hpgoodboy,

thanks, I'll include that in my response also with links to download the site..

I hope this will be enough.. I don't care so much for the money, but it's more about principals..time and energy wasted on that person..not to say jerk

First you need to have a notification that your client payment was disputed, secondly resolve or take an action. You need to state your problem and send them some evident files or documents that can prove you deliver the project.

We actually experienced this kind of problem before. Not only our company but the company of Daniel Evans as well. We're both scammed and we haven't get the money until now. They first put in the money and when you deliver the work they do some dispute.

Yes, escalate it to a claim. Then call PayPal IMMEDIATELY after you do, and explain everything to them over the phone.

Also be sure to remind PayPal during the call that it is a digital item (service).

They should close it out in your favor while you are on the phone with them.

Escalate it to a claim. Provide all communication from and to the client and all proof of delivery of work, etc. The more you give them, the better. Mention it is a digital product as well. They should rule in your favor. At least, they have in mine.

Besides the fact that you should win by default as it's digital, if you actually did the set up yourself, pull it down. I always embed things into all of my software and/or work to pull this stuff down in the event that I get back stabbed. I almost never have to, but for the 0.1% of cases it's nice to have.

Do you have a record of emails of you two talking about the site with your client commenting on how he or she likes the site. If you have that proof. Make a snap shot of the screen and send it to pay pal.

I'm not sure if PayPal deals with different sellers based on how much they bring in each month but I never respond in the dispute center. I just call PayPal and tell them it's an online service and they close the dispute over the phone.
