How can you sell Tumblr domains if they don't belong to you to begin with?

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

And sorry to tell you this, but they're not really worth anything either.......

And they're certainly not "domains", either - they're subdomains on a domain owned by someone else.

You have got no right to sell a subdomain. No tumblr, blogger, any of them.

Well ... actually this isn't quite true, as a generalization.

You can sell subdomains, if you can find someone who's actually willing to pay for one (for example, Squidoo lenses do change hands, perfectly legally and correctly and without breaching any Squidoo terms of service - albeit usually for very, very little money - and those are subdomains, just like a Tumblr blog is).

Tumblr is a free platform and these are not domains. If you put them on Tumbler with the idea of selling at a later date you have put them on the wrong place. You should have used a paid platform like Wordpress and had the domain hosted.

You can set tumblr blogs up on your own domain. I have a handful of them up and running right now that aren't subdomains of the tumblr site. That said, I don't know whether the Tumblr TOS allows you to sell Tumblr sites you have running on your own domain, but I doubt they'd even know if someone did...
