How would you convert blog content

I have a blog that's pulling decent traffic. It was built as an autoblog about two years ago and is loaded up with articles that were pulled from article directories.

So the articles are traffic leaks since at the bottom of each is a link going out to the authors destination.

Currently the blog is monetized with Adsense.

The niche it's in has potential to pull some decent money so I'm thinking about attempting to modify the content.

How would you go about it?

Would you rewrite the existing blog entries keeping the keywords that the page ranks for intact?

Would you leave the existing content but create additional content above the blog so that the leak is atleast moved down the page?

I'm thinking the adsense blocks could be replaced by banners or affiliate links now and that affiliate links could be placed throught the content if I convert it.

I want to do what I can to keep my existing traffic flow intact.

Any ideas and experiences that you have with similar situations would be greatly appreciated.

    For affiliates, banners are never the top option but it depends also on the niche ( banners on porn galleries convert pretty well). I would keep the current content and based on the keywords which are giving you traffic now I would build some new, fresh and unique articles to push even more.

    If you are able to get decent traffic with auto-posts, with unique ones should be easier.

    I would begin to create your own content and link it out to your own lead gen funnel, and focus on your own list building instead of adsense
