Clickbank eliminated the fee as per risk tiers~!!

Hey guys, just logged into my Clickbank account and found that they've
eliminated the fee which they're suppossed to apply on the accounts based
on risk tiers (i.e. colors). Now, they think that only showing to the clients
the risk associated with products is enough and no additional fees will be
applicable. This is somehow a relief for internet marketers.

Here's the link:
Refunds and Chargebacks

Still you should always focus on building a good product!

Thanks

Yeah, this is good news. However, unless you have a higher refund/chargeback product or are promoting one it wouldn't really affect you much or at all.

However, apparently it was affecting a lot of affiliates and vendors which is why I'm thinking they decided to get rid of it. Ultimately it wasn't beneficial to their bottom line in one way or another.

They will likely be bringing back the marketplace ratings, not sure if you noticed those are gone now as well. At least that's what I was told... ClickBank Suspends Marketplace Star Ratings, Eliminates Risk Tier Fees

I want to be able to rate affiliates for posting crap like this (promoting my products) in which case they've just copied the marketplace text.

And then there's clowns that simply reupload my own videos

To be honest, and i know that Ive been saying this for a while now (I can just see Alexa rolling her eyes) ....but in any case, I couldn't give a fats rats what CB does. I'm ditching them this year, and I cant wait.

My next info product will be hosted elsewhere, and I'll be writing up a lengthy article on my site with 10 reasons why I left CB. All factual based upon my own experiences.

They have the potential to get things right, and to those of us who get it - it seems obvious, but they dont do it

I mean, if vendors are publishing crap, then either don't let it into the marketplace, OR at the very least, let buyers post completely transparent feedback and ratings themselves AS BUYERS of the product, for everyone to see.

They do it on ebay, they do it on fiverr. Christ, almost any site that sells a product or service has it. So why are they not?????

Oh, just before i get off my soapbox, lets not forget the fact that the December 26th 2012 payment was a fortnight late - and that they still have that "We've paid our clients on time, every time, for over 14 years." crap on their homepage just leaves me shaking my head.

Id be happy to stay, but I cant given the amount of crap affiliates and other stuff thats going on over there. Its like a circus.

Oh and heres a final thought....for vendors....dont you think that by having affiliate plaster stuff willy nilly all over the web that it might be hurting your search placement rankings?

I cant prove this, but I bet Im close. Especially in terms of Panda. There are so many affiliates that are simply COPYING my pages and using that as their "marketing efforts".

    Sheesh!

I agree with this. Making Clickbank marketplace transparent is really necessary.
A lot of websites where you buy online stuff has this system up and running.
Take the example of Amazon.com You can leave your feedback about the product there and others can know whether this product is worth money (or promotion) or not.
First introducing the risk tiers, color rainbows and then marketplace ratings and then eliminating all the stuff shows that Clickbank didn't do homework before applying it.

Another thing, which I find really bad enough is the "refund system".
Why Clickbank makes it so convenient and even "encouraging" to get a refund? Means, you can download ANY product you want and can claim refunds for some stupid reasons like: "Oh! I want to have a beer this evening and I spent money on your product, can I get it back? Thank you". LOL! And Clickbank will simply return the money being a nice payment processor!
It really drives crazy to most of the vendors and affiliates and it really sucks!

I don't know what happened to the formatting of this post..LOL

      Thanks

They have been making a couple of changes lately. I suppose they realized the internet is changing an in order to keep up with the times, a few adjustments had to be done like adding paypal to their order form. It was about time! Maybe now they can pay affiliates through paypal.

Hehe! That's just an example of the stupid reasons
for what people ask for refunds.

I thought the risk tier fees were pretty stupid (and maybe a money grab for cb) for an obvious reason nobody has discussed.

If you were in the good/best tiers you got free refunds and free chargebacks. But to get into those tiers, you had to have practically no refunds or chargebacks anyway, so you didn't gain anything.

Meanwhile if you were in the bad tiers, you were obviously worse off.

So when nobody gains, and some lose, the average result is a loss.
