Increased optin rate 3,500% and Boosted Sales!! (Thank you WF Crew!)

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to the WF for all the great advice and support!

A few weeks ago I posted a question about list-building strategies and I had many responses saying to create a free product such as an ebook, report, etc. and give it away to pull in subscribers..

(We are a drumming company, so it was a bit different, but we created a 5-Day Bootcamp with 45 drum lessons, that we already had on our members area, and offered them for free!)

Well..

We went from gaining 1-2 magazine subscribers per day to 36 per day..
(I know, I know.. That's not too impressive compared to you insane list-builders who get 500+ per day, but I think it's pretty good for only having launched our magazine 2 months ago!

The best part about everything is that I have our subscribers on a two week followup (1 email every 3 days) and it upsells them on our monthly drum memberships that are $14.95 per month/ $34.95 quarterly/ $104.95 per year and we have been gaining members! 3 more in the last two days! (Luckily they are all recurring, so sales are great..

What would I do without you guys??

My advice to anyone reading this
is to create a free boot-camp, ebook, etc. and put your subscribers on a follow-up that upsells them after the first or second week!

      The great thing about your gift offer is that it's highly
      targeted.

      In other words anyone who opts in for those gift lessons
      you already know exactly what kind of product they'd be
      likely to buy.


      Offering some kind of gift when people optin AS WELL as
      some kind of email course or course with the links delivered
      by email is a very effective way to get a targeted list,
      increase dramatically the people signing up and get people
      to look forward to opening your emails (that's the reason
      for the email course).

        Exactly Andrew! It's crazy how effective free bootcamps are!

        We actually send them the password to a 'bootcamp recruit' page where they can login and view each of the 5 days (like a course) with a workflow, progress tracker and description of the day! :-)

        Side-note: We increased our subscriber conversion nearly 7% with a lightbox popup after 45 seconds. People see our quality, then optin! It's great!

    Great progress and action taking! As you see it works

    I would suggest to make the sales follow up to 5-7 messages and to deliver them
    within one week/one week and a few days. You're leaving money on the table by sending only once every 3 days, they will forget who you are. Remember that those are just leads and not buyers.

      Actually, we have everybody on a 6 message followup, each 3 days apart.. Do you think that's too spaced out?

      Have you increased your sales doing that? It actually takes 15 days for all the messages to be sent. Also- We send out a broadcast every monday. So in those 15 days, they actually get 8 messages. What do you think about bumping it down to 2 days apart?

      Anyone else agree?

    I have found when people first opt into an email list its best to provide valuable information to them 7 days straight. This is when they are most excited and prone to opening your emails.

    After that I would do as you are not sending them emails every 2-3 days.

    Amazing work on your progress! Just goes to show what some hard work will do.

      Congratulations, sir. 1000 new subscribers a month is a real base to grow from. That is definitely something worth being excited over.

      Now you just keep working the numbers. More traffic, and refine the offers so they convert even better, and it's all up from here.

    After writing AR messages for other people, I'm getting ready to set up my own for a new membership site. I appreciate the suggestions and experience everyone has shared re: timing.
