Social Monkee and Squidoo?

So I have heard that Social Monkee is not that great and infact it is bad for main sites, but what about using it for web 2.0 sites like squidoo, hubpages, etc???

Squidoo and hubpages are excellent sources to start link wheels from... I would favor squidoo a little bit more as there URL's seem to be indexed a lot better I noticed from search results... from past experience...

Sites like Squidoo, Hubpages, Blogger, etc are excellent feeder sites to your main site.

Go to each of these platforms - read their terms of service - create content and link back to your main site.

You can very well use Social Monkee for your web 2.0 sites. It will become tier 2 backlinks which will not be able to effect your money site directly.

Good to know that but what about Social Monkee? I think he asked about that one too.

I tested Squidoo just recently and it did bugger all.

You're much better off investing your time towards creating content for your own website.

I heard many of Social Monkee sites have been deindexed. Also, they are low quality PR0 bookmark sites. They used to charge a premium membership fee of $47, but now it's only $7. Says it all really.

      Couple points ...

      1. I got my Social Monkee account for free. It's all paid now so cost doesn't really 'say it all.'

      2. If Social Monkee links are so horrible use it to link to your competitors. It would be nice if you supplied proof before criticizing another Warrior's service.

      3. Someone may get some backlinks from Social Monkee. You really need to think it through before proclaiming certain links are bad links.

        ^^

#1. Mine was free also. I was referring to the fact that they reduced the lifetime membership by $40. Post penguin, Google is cracking down hard on automated backlinking services like this and also devaluing links. If the service was worth $47, im sure they would have kept it at that price.

#2. No one here is saying that the links are harmful, just that they don't improve SERP rankings because they lack juice. Junk links can harm competitors, but that is hardly a wise thing to do.

#3. They may do, but if they're crap links what is the point.
