Complete newbie here! I am planning to start my IM business with physical products - perhaps unsurprising in view of the fact that I have started out with the Jan Roos course.

Does anybody else sell physical products and, if so, is it working for you?

P.S. I am not asking anyone to divulge their IM secrets or websites. I just want to know if physical products is a viable route to go.

Thanks.

Selling goods over the Internet is a gigantic industry. What are you planning on selling? Are you planning on shipping them yourself, or drop shipping them? Lots of questions need to be answered before giving you any more advice. Please tell us about the business you're going to start.

I am planning to market as an Amazon affiliate. Yes, I know that many, many people do the same but I am hoping to find a niche product that I can focus on.

I think we may still need some clarification here...

By "amazon affiliate" do you mean promote amazon via their Associates program? If so then technically you are not selling a physical product, amazon is and you are simply promoting them .

If, however, you plan on setting up an ecommerce store with items, marking the price up x% from what amazon charges (your margin) and then reselling those at the higher price (dropshipping from amazon to the customer), then that is an entirely different case altogether.

Both can be successful, though the later is a bit more "time intensive" to find "sales" and market pricing fluctuations to allow you to get a decent ROI.

yeah well first you should do the research behind the products available for promotion on amazon, then you can customize a business plan around that niche.

thedanbrown: yes, I intend to my research.

Marketology Team: Yes, I do mean promotion of Amazon products (to start with). I have no plans (at this stage) to set up an e-commerce store.

      Thanks for your input.
