Autoblogging still works

Just thought I share this here since it seems to work for me.
I was reading a lot of pro and cons about autoblogging with duplicate content and found that most recommending to stay away from it and that Google doesn't like and will not list your site.
Since it is easy and relatively cheap to set up I thought I have a go at it. I set up a wordpress multi blog with a simple flexsqueeze theme and some basic must have plugins and WP Robot for creating the auto posts. After researching some niche markets following the general idea of low competition but relative good search volume on Google I started my first few sites with disappointing results. As predicted by many Google ignored my sites.
I than changed my niche finding strategy and thought I have a go at high volume and highly competitive markets. This changed things dramatically. On an everything android related blog for example I receive between 150-200 unique visitors a day with over 2000 pages/posts indexed by Google within a month. These blogs seem to stay in Google's index long term since I have auto blogs which are over a year old and still receive regular traffic from Google.
I only promote the blogs by having a separate twitter account for each of the sites where every blog post gets auto tweeted.
The only thing I now have to do is to monetize the sites properly. At the moment I only use adsense and amazon with disappointing results but perhaps someone of you guys can give me some ideas on this.

    Yeah here's an idea..

    Don't do autoblogging.

    As you've demonstrated -- it doesn't work.

    Yeah you might get traffic, but it's not targeted, and that can tell it's an autoblog.

    What you mean it's not targeted? Visitor come through long tail keywords - asking questions. The answers are on my site coming from Yahoo answers. Visitors can't be much more targeted that this. My posts ranking higher on Google than the original Yahoo answer.

    You're better off not doing the autoblogging thing. Stick to building a main site that focuses on 1 product, and a series of backend products. Or join a monthly recurring income affiliate program (like webhosting).

    It is true that you are getting traffic but are you making money from the traffic that you are getting on your website? You might want to test it out by putting an opt in form on the website and build a list so that you can follow up with them to promote relevant product.

    But I still feel that growing your own list of subscribers in a profitable market where there are many relevant products to promote is still the main way to have a long term internet income.

    The sites will eventually get zapped, and you'll find you wasted a lot of time and money that you could have devoted to a real and lasting strategy based on quality and trust.

    This one runs on one domain with 12 blogs set up so far. Takes me 10 minutes to create a new blog. I just wanted to try something different and it's actually making a bit of money, so what's the harm? I am not suggesting anyone can make a living out of it.

    I am going to run an auto blog test next month on new hosting. Local domain ==>> WP empire builder ===>> Article Builder (auto post every 3-5 days) ==>>> CTR Theme or something similar? Each blog will target a new niche. My last test with a site with WP zon builder linked to 130 twitter accounts through socialoomph (3000 product posts, no extra content) is making daily sales still????? I know it will get hit but hey cash is cash. It is all a bout testing, but keep a few white sites under your hat

    Autoblogging can have its benefits but I think it's not for long term or something sustainable that you may do for long. So, as a side project, it's worth pursuing but think of the consequences later on so all your efforts won't go to waste.

    Man, people are such haters around here. If it works it works. No need to argue with this mans experience. I can think of a ton of useless activities that far outweigh 10 minutes, like posting on this forum. Kudos to the OP for at least not blindly following what everyone else is, or is afraid of, doing. My advice would be to diversify and not to make these a substantial part of your income, but other than that milk it to the panda come's home .

    My take:
    Take as much profit as possible while your autoblogs are doing well.
    Create an opt-in to grab as much as subscribers. Upswell them after they subscribe.

    On the other hand, you can try to flip the websites at Flippa. You might be able to fetch good price for your sites.

    I use autoblogging sites, actually I own 6 blogs that work 100% on auto-blog and they generate me around 3K per month consistently. It works and will work for ages to come. I am living proof of it.

        I'm doing a similar test. If you would like to start an "autoblog testers group" with me (and Danny Shaw are you interested?) I'd like to share results and strategies with eachother so we can find out what works and what doesn't work.

    Set up an account with dlvr.it and add your RSS feeds from your blogs then connect them to your Twitter, Linkedin, Tumblr, etc. accounts to be delivered automatically with each new post.

    Keep building up your Twitter followers, LinkedIn connections, etc. and you will have your own private traffic network for your auto-blogs.

      Like many other things discussed here, the problem does not lie in the concept. The problem lies in the often abysmal execution of that concept.

      After becoming involved with other autoblog threads, I've had a few autobloggers PM me links to their (successful) autoblogs. Don't ask me to provide links - they were shared privately and will remain so.

      The common characteritic I found was that I couldn't tell they were autoblogs. They looked like a typical news site, for the most part. Whatever feeds they were using for posts were filtered well, keeping the posts mostly on target. The posts themselves were of reasonable quality.

      If you can do that with your autoblog setup, and you want to have a go at it, why not?

      If you aren't willing to excel at the execution, I'd stay away - for all the reasons Alexa mentioned.

    You could look into CPA offers depending on what your viewers are interested in.

    Go to Max Bounty or Peerfly and see what offers are available in the marketplace, maybe you can find something better than Azon or adsense

    The fact that many fail with autoblogging has given this technique a bad reputation. I personally have dozens of clients making money consistently with auto-blogs and no work. With autoblogs I mean aggregators, not the crappy sites that automatically post 5 years old plr articles via WPRobot.

    Aggregators are actually useful to many, do not spam the Internet, and do not steal content or breach copyright since they only post headlines. In fact, there are hundreds of automated sites making huge profits this way. These for example are all famous automated sites with a PR of 7 or more: Huffington Post, Technorati, Topix, Popurls, Techmeme, Alltop, Slashdot, Digg, Drudgereport, Newsnow.co.uk, Newser, Realclearpolitics and many more.

    Congrats on being successful with your blogs, hopefully you can keep it up.

    The problem with autoblogging is most times it isn't very sustainable. It is a constant cat and mouse game to stay ahead of google and keep your site ranked.

    Say you build up a very profitable autoblogging gig... Google could wipe out all your traffic overnight with an algo update. Just keep in mind that your success is completely dependent on things outside of your control.

    I have a WSO that recommends doing this too, so I believe that it would work.

    Apparently there is a lot of propaganda out there on the net started by search engine companies to put people off.

    I think autoblogging is not a good idea., park your domain or sell it on forums, you won't get trouble with adsense plus you will be gaining more money.
