How to disable comments on Facebook Page Posts

I would like to ask if anyone knows how to disable commenting on selected posts of a FB page or even disable it for the whole page. I know it can be done, take a look at this page for example: http://www.facebook.com/lunesta

Thanks in advance!

To turn off the ability for people to post on your Page's timeline:
    1. From the top of your Page, click Edit Page
    2. Select Manage Permissions
    3. Uncheck the boxes next to Everyone can post to [Your Page's Name]'s timeline and Everyone can add photos and videos to [Your Page's Name]'s timeline in the Posting Ability section
    4. Click Save Changes

You can also see it here.

Thanks but That does not disable commenting on your posts, it only disables people posting on the timeline, I want to know how to disable comments like the page in the example I gave.

Are you wanting to hide a specific comment or do you want to disallow all of a specific follower's comments? Or something else?

I don't think it is possible to disable comments comments a Facebook Page unless you are a drug company (like the Lunesta page Re-cycle linked).

Here is an article about the policy. Facebook Page Commenting Changes: Part 2 | Common Sense I is over two years old but appears to still be current.

This makes me not trust Facebook even more than before. Did the drug companies just give them a ton of money to get this special treatment? Maybe facebook really wants their advertising money.

Here is a way to essentially block any comment. I don't like the fact that people will still see a comment button and then might feel like their right to free speech or something is violated when their comments are blocked.

This article shows that Pharma pages USED TO be able to ask to have commenting turned off. Apparently, if your branded pages is dedicated to a single prescription drug, you can still have the functionality removed. This is dated May 2011, but I guess that explains it.

    That's a bad idea.

    Seriously.

    You want engagement.

You want people to feel they can reach out to your brand.

By turning off engagement, it sends THE WRONG MESSAGE...

It makes you appear like you're trying to hide something or deflect criticism.

    None of these are good.

    I suggest you reconsider.
