Need technical help with camstudio recorder

I was recording a video on my new trading course, but when i finished recording it will take some time to load.
Then when it reached 100%, a window opened up to ask me the technical parts, like how many bit colour i want, and how fast the frames etc.

Then when i click ok, or done, it immediately give me the "not responding" error msg, then it tells me to close the application cos it wasnt responding.

I tried a few times and it is the same.

I notice when i take 10-20 seconds it will load, but when it goes longer than that it will always hang. Not even 1 min.

I have space in my com, why is this happening ? can anyone help?

Im pulling my hair out already.

I seriously suck at technical stuff.

I tried installing the lossles codec and the Dvix codec but i still cant find the option in my camstudio.

Are you set on using Camstudio for some reason? There are much better free options for screen recording, IMO.

            lol.
Its because its the only free one i know of.

And it takes some time to learn new stuff.

I remembered not having any problems with camstudio b4.

ANyway thanks! will look into your recommendations.

Okay so after using it, its quite good.
              But quite difficult to edit.
In the sense, i cant fastfoward it.

I can always export the video to WMM, but they only can fastfoward x2.
And it always hang as well, when i want to publish the video, it always hang if its more than 3 mins.

But my course is on trading and i cant do 3 min videos.
Just not enough time to cramp everything inside 3 min window. lol.

Sounds like either you've recorded an epic length video, or your computer is an old one to me? Video processing is quite computer intensive.

I'd try it with the defaults that it suggests first.

My computer takes a while to process the videos that I create, and they're not that long. I'm running on a machine with 12GB RAM, 6 Cores and an SSD Hard Drive.

Have you tried leaving it, and seeing if it finishes eventually? I'd say that whatever the software is doing it is taking so long that the operating system thinks that it has crashed. If it hasn't, then just let it run.

yup i think its old. But still working fine actually, for most stuff.
This com was bought in 2008/9.
And i think its only 2gb Ram.
      Duo core.

I tried WMM and when i leave it for the whole afternoon it does work.
But i cant be giving every video an afternoon to load. hahah!

I have moved on to Active Presenter.
      But they cant fastforward.

The videos are around 17-30 min, with the longest at 1 hour only.
I dont know how long u mean by epic. haha

Rendering videos ALWAYS requires time - it will not happen instantly (i.e. without waiting a few minutes). Even with better computers and better programs the recorded "stuff" has to be made into a video according to your settings and needs.

And btw, it is not as much about the storage space as it is about RAM!

By my standard 1 hour video is way out of my patience zone... People shouldn't abuse the visitors' or buyers' time!

      Hey there Istvan!

Good to see you. THanks for stopping by.

Yup, it does take time. But even a 5 min video would make my screen go white and it shows, [not responding]. And if i leave it the whole afternoon, sometimes it works, or sometimes it really hangs,. lol.

And ya, i do know 1 hour is quite long, i will try to editing it down as much as i can for sure.
But it really depends on how much info is in the video.

The 1st church i went to had their sermon time at 20-40 mins as their whole service is only 1 hour. And i just cant sit still, thinking when is this gonna end.
But the 2nd church that i went to has their service at 2 hour, and the sermon is at 90mins.
I am at the edge of my sit all the time, enjoying every min of it.

So generally i do understand that the time is very sensitive, as sensitive as money, since they say time is money.

But you cant just look at time per se or length of video.
After all they paid for it and i need to over deliver too. =)
Cant make them pay me and then once they get into the member area, its just a 30 min video or 10 of the 3 mins videos.

But yes generally i agree with your statement.
THanks for the heads up though.
