Turning my Facebook page into a website

Hi everyone,
I have a fan page on Facebook with all the information about my business (details, contact, photos, updates etc.) and I was thinking to take another step and giving it a website
Does anyone know someone/something that can make it simple for me to move all the content from my Facebook page into a real website? oh, and if it will be cheap as well it will be great

Thanks in advance!

That's an interesting situation that you're in there - wanting to move your Facebook content from your Facebook page to your website.

I think that the best plan would probably be to stick with both. As you’re well aware, there are limitations with a Facebook page that you wouldn't have with a website, especially if you have a WordPress site or something similar. It's easier to build a mailing list, easier for you to blog, easier to do a lot of things. You have a lot more control.

And then there’s the obvious: (1) optimal search engine optimization benefits from having your own website, (2) targeting your niche better, and (3) creating relevant content for that audience. So, yes, there are definitely some obvious advantages there.

I don't know of any tool or app that could automate the transfer of all your Facebook stuff to your website. I don’t know if you’d really want to do that anyway, given the social capital that you already have there.

The best thing that you could do is put together a strategy for your website—what you want to have there, how you want to create content, how you’d want to promote that website—and then grab the content from your Facebook page that would fit in with what you have on your website, and then move them over. I think that might be a good way to approach that.

I would go with making a website and keeping Facebook too, this way you have the best of both worlds, and set up right wouldnt be much more work if any after it has been created.

You have probably put a lot of effort in to Facebook and seen results so throwing that away to move it to a website would be a mistake.

If you are interested inbox me and I can take a look.

Thanks a lot for the answers guys!

I'm not going to delete my Facebook page but I still want to get a website..

Anyway, during my searching for a solution I run into this article- With $15M In Funding, EXAI Makes It A Snap To Convert Facebook Pages To Full-Blown Websites | TechCrunch
It's talking about a new free app (EXAI Website Creator on Facebook | Facebook ) that does, actually, what I was looking for- it can turn Facebook pages to website (they say that they take content from the fan page and automatically put it in the new website they build for you)

Did anyone try it? How does it work?

    Thanks!
    Timmor

I also think you should keep them both.
I suppose most people will rather look on social networks as fist step when they want to know more about your business. It is more like interacting, exchanging opinions and so on.
The website is more professional though and provides confidence to the potential customers.
    Good luck! :-)

Hi, This sounds like an easy job for most web developers. So pick you developer carefully and if i was you i would pay a little bit extra for ongoing support. As a developer myself i have converted many facebook business pages into websites, either static HTML sites or into a Wordpress theme. And i know there are a LOT of people doing this for very little money.

So don't break the bank but remember to get it done by a professional. It will save a lot of headaches in the future.

      All the best,

      Matt
