Stand Alone CD Duplicators & Printers

Just wondering if anyone duplicates their own CD's/DVD's using a tower duplicator?

I'm thinking about going this route and would like opinions and experience regarding the quality of the duplicators and printers as well as the process in general.

Thanks

Kevin

Actually, the ones that print directly on the disc look good. If you aren't doing a high volume, something like the epson r220 only costs $99 or so.

I would suggest using Taiyo Yuden white printable discs. They have the lowest failure rate by far, and are first choice for most pro recording studios. One good source is supermedia stores. I'm not affiliated with them or Taiyo Yuden, just a happy customer for years.

I think you mean Epson R280.

I can't give you any advice on a good duplicator, but I can tell you to stay away from the Primera Bravo II. I bought one a few years ago because we were spending a lot of time and money duplicating CDs one a time and then printing out full color inkjet glossy labels.

It worked for a little while - had to send it back for repairs and the one they replaced it with continued to have problems. Time on the phone with support and figuring it all out got to be too time consuming, so I packed it up in a box, put it in the garage and I'm not quite sure what happened to it after that. :-)

We use Kunaki now for all our CD and DVD duplication. The quality is excellent, there are no quantity restrictions and the turnaround time is fast. It was a much better solution for us.

      Katie,

That's one of the ones I was looking at. I also use Kunaki but I have products that come with multiple disks and wanted a more efficient solution.

Were you satisfied with the results that the Primeria gave you before it broke?

I really thinking about gong back to the basics. Silver CD's with black writing.

I'll keep looking and if I purchase a solution I'll make sure that I report my results on this forum.
