How Do You Have A Back-End On Kindle?

I've never sold anything on Kindle, don't know how it works.

If I write a short report and sell it on Kindle for say .99, would I be able to somehow get in a back-end where I sell my $37 Clickbank product?

How would I do this? Or is this best done when the back-end product is also a Kindle product?

You can link to your website in your book.

I wouldn't try to sell a short report on there though, probably won't do very well with it. People seem to be expecting longer books over there since its a book marketplace. Or maybe your idea of short is much longer than mine.

all you would need to do is link out to your website from inside of your kindle report. I would send them to a lead capture page, becasue if they are coming from a paid kindle offer they are a proven buyer, even though the sale was most likely a few bucks thats all it takes to establish them as a buyer.

One of the best leads you can get is from someone who just bought something similar to what your selling.

cashcow: I'm in the fitness niche. I think a lot of value can be provided in this niche with a short 20-50 page report, as long as it contains high quality info with new concepts and ideas.

nicholasb: wow, I just read a very inspiring post by you, nice to see you replying to my post.

I thought maybe there was a post-payment download page or something where I could provide a link to my squeeze page. A link inside my book isn't so bad.

I just read another post on here where some guy (sorry, forget his name) advised to have the link on the first page of your book in an 'About the Author' page, so potential customers will see your link when they 'Look Inside', before they even choose to buy.

50 pages is a pretty decent size.

You should definitely check out the other books in your niche and see what is selling, how much info it has and at what price. That will give you an idea of what the readers in that niche will tolerate.

I've spent a good amount of time over at Amazon reading reviews etc.. and it is common for readers to give low reviews to short reports because the market is used to buying 200 page books. When they get something that only takes an hour to read they feel cheated. Might not be that way for your particular niche though so its good to check it out.

The fitness niche is incredibly competitive over there so you'll probably have to market it in order to get traffic to it.

Sounds like you just want to use it as a lead generator though, and for that, it might be better for you to make it free and distribute it to all the ebook platforms - Apple, B&N etc... You'd be putting your book in front of a larger audience. Just a thought.

You can add paragraphs that refer to your other content.

    For example:

I would drop an enticing link to a lead capture page of which I would then give away a free report/video series that correlates strongly to the kindle book that they purchased.

Then build a relationship with your leads by the distribution of good quality content, and then lead up your pitch emails for a clickbank product or even your product.

Quick Tip - After giving them good quality content (free report/video series) you could even ask them to complete a survey of yours to find out what exactly they would like to learn about - then simply give them what they want.

Absolutely...I do this with all my books.

You can also link to other books that you're selling, make series of books, bundle different books.

But at the end of every book I add a sales letter selling something related to the book.

I think you pretty much have it figured out.

Fair warning most I know don't get too high of an opt-in rate from the readers who bought your book but it's essentially a free opt-in so no worries.

In the book - at the very beginning AND at the very end - link to your website with a free offer of some sort. You could even link to a squeeze page, or maybe a lightbox optin. I think that you would get people on your list pretty easily.
