Should I buy older WSOs? I ran into an issue...

So today I decided to go ahead and purchase a WSO, even though I knew it was posted over 2 months ago, I didn't see this to be a problem... until I went into the vendor's website to download a product an all I got was a blank page with no info whatsoever. Matter of fact, the whole website was just an completely empty WP theme.

I understand that his was an older WSO, so I wanted to get the opinion/input of more experienced WSO sellers/buyers... If a WSO was posted a while back, over 2 months let's say, is it still something that should be purchased? Or is there a time frame that one should look out for?

I guess some WSO get closed down while others don't. : /

2 months isn't very old?! I thought you were going to say 2 years, or something, when you said "older".

Have you posted in the WSO thread, to ask/comment? (Should do that, perhaps?).

Yeah I did post on the thread but the thread seems to be like an abandoned house, lol.

I'm editing my post because I found the WSO in question. I'm not sure what has happened but I know that seller and she's not one to pull a fast one deliberately. I believe if you send her a PM or email to any support addresses (or her PayPal email), that she will get you sorted. She does have a support desk link at the bottom of the WSO, too, which is where you should begin.

Different vendors have different reasons for the length of time they run WSO's.

Reasons could range from limited spaces (coaching), limited copies (minimising saturation) or they may be using plain old scarcity tactics.

For those who are running WSO's in which none of those factors are an issue, 2 months isn't a long time at all and you can be sure there are still many great ones available that have been running for a lot longer than that.

    Thanks Tina,

Yeah, my post is not so much about the seller but more about getting feedback from more experienced sellers/buyers on how far back a WSO should be purchased. I might put out a WSO in the future so it's good to know about the right procedures. : )

Also, I take it that a seller needs to keep constantly checking on the WSO thread, as there is no way for him/her to know about any new posts? This might be more difficult as time passes by.

Sellers normally subscribe to the thread in order to be notified of new posts right away. Or at least, most do.

As to buying older WSOs, I've always figured if they were open and still had a buy button, then they should certainly be available. Maybe she's moved it and forgot she had an open WSO. I've only had one problem with an older WSO (much older than yours) and when I contacted the seller, they sent me the files.

You bought this WSO today you're saying and you're posting about posting a thread and getting no reply about your issue..

Maybe there's a real issue and the creator of the wso will fix it and maybe they haven't been online today.. How about giving people atleast a day before assuming you got screwed?

The mentality with wso's on this forum is something i don't understand at times.. WSO's are usually just a few bucks and people are so quick to freak out with any little issue and to request refunds.. I just don't get it.

Be a little patient there bud.

Dude, take a pill and relax. He wasn't freaking out and he didn't say he got screwed. He was just asking if it was common and what to look for.

I'm very relaxed. He did say under the op that he ordered today and hasn't gotten a reply. I personally have had this happen to me where someone will buy my wso and ask something on the thread and a couple hours later they're saying i don't reply etc.

All i'm saying is to be patient!

Patience is helpful, yes, but I didn't get the impression that's why he was asking about it. I think what alarmed him was being sent to an empty page. You just seemed a tad harsh, compared to his post, that's all. I think some of us longer-term Warriors see so many entitled idiots and trolls that sometimes it's easy to read every question in that light and respond a little stronger than needed. Don't want us scaring away the good ones, that's all... lol.

Awww I feel like we're good now . Tina honestly after reading my thread I can't blame you because I'm normally a nice guy but yes I did kind of some like a jerk. I apologize to you and to the guy who posted this thread if that was the way I sounded..not my intentions really.

Joseph yes I would be, as a matter of fact it happened to me once like 3-4 months ago with a wso as well but I messaged the wso creator and he fixed everything when he got back on the forum about half a day later.

Obviously if they are still active on the thread, it's fine.

If not, you may just check if they've been active on the forum, recently, etc.

There's no hard and fast rule. Just use common sense.

As others have already said, 2 months is not a very long time ago. I would advise you contacting or emailing the WSO seller in question and explaining the situation to him/her. I'm sure they will be understanding.

You should check out the thread and ask the owner first before purchasing..

I think some WSO's are timeless, some are not. For example if you buy a PLR from an old thread you are still able to use the articles, graphics whatever. If you buy the latest SEO report it shouldn't be too old because it won't work anymore!

I don't see 2 months as being "too old". There are some methods that still work after even years of being used.
