Short of Leads.... Appreciate some help

Hey People,

I recently took a few extra salspeople on and our leads have dropped off a little which means my telesales team at times are scraping the bottom of the barrel for leads which isn't good.

My product is a IT certification program. We get people qualified and get them into work. We guarantee they pass their exams and get a job or they get their money back.

Currently the best source of leads is PPC camapigns pointed at landing pages and jobs fairs where we hand out information and take peoples details.

I have tried radio, national press, jobs papers with some success but the lead cost is too high, it eats up all of my margin and looses me money. I have even called up recruitment agent and IT companies offering to do joint ventures, shared mailing etc.. but it seems in the UK to most business owners this is a foreign concept an they think we are trying to scam them. We have had a few takers but the response isn't enough to solve the lead shortage.

I really need a way to generate some extra leads or I will have to let some of them go which I don't want to do.

I'm raking my brains all day every day but I'm not getting anywhere. Can anyone suggest any ideas to me? There are companies doing what I'm doing with sales teams 10x the size of mine but I just can't figure out what they are doing to get their leads.

Thanks for any advice.

How about setting up a refer a friend program for all of your graduates. For every person they refer they get $xxx.

Setting up an affiliate program on a pay per lead basis with additional bonus for those that sign up for your services.

I dont know how you are using the newspapers. But offering a free report by calling an 800number works awesome. Same with the job papers. The 800 number caputres the number even if they dont leave a message with their contact info. You can set these numbers up so that you get texted or emailed everytime someon calls up. Instant leads.

    Your report could be titled:
"How To Get Into The Lucrative Field Of IT Guranteed and Start Making $xx,xxx A Year"

Hope this sparks some ideas for you.

    THanks
    Matt

How about setting up a contest between your sales staff to drum up new leads. Have cool prizes if you reach a certain threshold, etc... almost like a JV product launch!

I would say, the more leads, the more likely you are to win a certain amount of money or some incentive to spark affiliates to promote your product even more.

What is your targeted customer acquisition cost? Once you determine that, sign up with an affiliate network and start promoting your offer. Get affiliates to be your sales team for you.

I've offered my salespeople 5% of all revenue from lead sources they generate. All my list is presented with our referral program.

I have considered generating leads from CPA networks but after readining through some blackhat forums it put me off.

My ticket price is £1400 so I can pay nice referral fees but it involes quite a bit of pre-sales by my telesales team to close the deal. I have a custom piece of software that allows people to refer leads and I can track them in the system and even proide reports including all the sales people notes on each refferred lead. However I haven't had much luck getting people to refer leads. I am only interested in leads from the UK and Ireland.

Thanks for everyones suggestions, I am following them all up.
