Hi all warriors..

I need your suggestion again.

I want to buy an 4 aged years old domain. Then from this old domain, i will updated it with unique content.

Is it a good idea? I saw my competitor also do this. He buy aged domain, and then from the aged domain, he create original article that link back to his main site.

Well the idea is not bad at all...

But here is what that is of great consideration... The content must be high quality on the domain which helps to build the PR of the site as well...

The greater the quality of the content, the more the link value would be...

    Good Luck!

Age alone is not enough... the domain needs to have at least 100 backlinks to be worth the purchase... it should also ideally be a PR 3 or PR 4...

I'm sick of building funnels. Aren't you? You can buy working funnels making $231/day here for 12 bucks. Have a look.

Please be sure it has at least PR1 or check if it is still indexed. We never know if it is was banned before.

Buy a aged domain with PR4 or higher and make sure it is related to your niche not just any domain name as this will help it long term. Also check the backlinks to the domain and how much trust it has as these are all things that will help. Good Luck

High PR domain is more important than aged domains. It used to matter a bit for aged domain. But from the recent penguin googles updates, it was not of key importance. The key is now content with onsite links. Wikipedia is the ideal site Google is in favour. And also quality of traffic and backlinks.

I was told that PR is not that important these days too.

I disagree that pagerank is important when buying an aged domain only with no site. Pagerank is attached to pages, not to a domain and pagerank with no pages will quickly disappear. It has always disappeared within a month after buying when I've bought domains with pagerank that no longer had a site on it.

In addition, there's a ton of scammers who know how to make a domain have high pagerank (spoofing pagerank), which quickly disappears also.

I would still buy an aged domain if I wanted it, but I do just as well buying new domains.

The content on the site is completely irrelevant.

Total garbage. Where did you get 100 backlinks from? The number of backlinks means nothing.

Forget about page rank. Its a wanky metric.

I've never noticed any benefit to owning aged domains..and I've owned a few. If you're buying a domain SOLELY because of it's age..you may be better served spending your money elsewhere.

Aged domains can save you months of hard work, giving you a foot up in your niche. You can gain leverage with aged domains as Google gives more confidence in older sites, some can be purchased through Domainka, Namecheap and Godaddy.

I can hardly believe some of the appallingly ill-informed and misguided "information" in this thread. It lends entirely new meaning to the expression "The blind are leading the blind".

I advise anyone wanting to benefit, or to learn anything, from this thread, to read Suzanne's and Johnny's posts above (#10/11) and just cover up the rest of the thread.
