I have seen a $3 WSO do pretty well, but the content was solid and the idea was mostly to give some good info and build his list

      I haven't.

For myself, I'd probably be far more inclined to offer a $1 WSO than a free one.

In one case you build a list of buyers known to have either a credit-card or a PayPal account and the ability and willingness to use it online.

In the other case you build a bigger list comprising a mixture of the people mentioned above and a whole group of others of whom some/all of that may not be true at all, and you have no way of distinguishing between the two groups.

      I know which I'd prefer.

I agree with you a list of buyers is better than a list of freebie seekers.

There you go, Satio. It can work. Just make sure it's your own product and it's quality, and you have a decent sales page.

That list of 120 buyers, are probably better than 1000 freebie optins, so offering a $1 has it's benefits, and the money made from that buck a sale, could be used to bump the thread to get even more buyers on that list.

I agree with everyone, with a twist.

Offer your $1 WSO with a related OTO. At least you will know all of those on your new list have a C/C or a Paypal account. But in addition you could pick up some sales for your OTO.

    This accomplishes two things.
    1. you can pick up some additional $$$
    2. You can segment these buyers to their own list where you can offer higher priced products.

    Just and idea.

I offered my WSO for several days for $1, but it turned out bad, mainly because the views just aren't as big as you think they would be unless you have A LOT of JV partners promoting your offer or you have a ROCK SOLID reputation OR you have a truly unique offer - something backed with proof of income or a real game changer plugin.

Plus, people don't just click the "buy now" button because something is cheap. Everyone who isn't a total newbie to the WF is ACCUSTOMED to buying things dirt cheap, so it's no big attraction really.

My lesson learned: Plan your WSOs well in advance! Gather supporting partners and don't launch a WSO unless you have EVERYTHING prepared - GREAT copy, READY support, READY delivery, etc...

$40 to launch, and your WSO post disappears quick, I can tell you.

I'll spend $1 just to see what you are talking about. If it isn't any good I will NOT ask for a refund.

I personally have never seen one or launched one so I wouldn't know. But if you want to build a email list I don't think it is a bad idea. Give it a shot!

I'm confused now, are you asking if $1 wso's are worth doing? or where can you launch a wso for one dollar

If you're looking for an alternative to paying the $40 fee, just Google "your niche" forums

I don't think you will find the quality of buyers anywhere else though. Offering your product on the WF, is like promoting your product to a list of hundreds of thousands of highly targeted optins.

Yep! Pinterest Brand Marketing - $470 for my $1 WSO.

I also run free WSOs and those do well.

And I have also done an honor system WSO - I did one for a coffee PLR pack - they got 20 articles plus 5 bonus articles, so 25 total.

I told them to pay me whatever they felt it was worth based on what I told them was in it. More than half of the buyers sent me $20. Some sent $15, 10 or 5 (very few).

That's a great idea. How much do you think you rep on this forum played a role in the amount people gave?
Oh and bye the way the first product i ever bought was yours.

I think launching a $1 WSO could be worthwhile if your primary intention is to build a list. Offering something of high value will make your list more likely to purchase the products that you recommend inside of the future.

A $1 wso has to be viewed as either a list-building tactic OR as a way to offer a higher priced product on the back end. The downsides are you give up affiliate interest and have to bump it alot at $40 a crack, to get any volume. You may not even make your bumps cost back, but it still has longer term benefits.

It should be noted though, that a list of $1 buyers is not the same as a list of $10 or $15 buyers.

Launch a $1 WSO and offer a double money back guarantee. You will be surprised at the response. I have not launched one yet but it's a great idea.

You'll get the usuall knuckleheads who will try and scam a few dollars from you, but if they persist then you black list them or name and shame them on your thread.

It takes balls and a great product to offer a double your money back guarantee... actualy, probably just the latter. I suspect almost no one does it because they (a) have a crap product or (b) are penny pinchers and don't understand how many more sales they'll get.

One thing to keep in mind... You won't get a lot of affiliates willing to promote for $1... However, you can build a great list of buyers!

I was going to say I'd be more interested in whether anyone had run
a $1,000 WSO and got buyers.

Then I suddenly realized I did that and I got 4 buyers in 2 days
    before closing the wso.

    They were happy buyers too.

It can be a mistake to think that cheap prices will help you make
    more sales.

Often higher prices bring in more sales, better customers and
    obviously you make more money.
