Where to get free images

You can get some from the creative commons section of Flickr.com so long as you give the owner of the image credit for it somewhere. On blogs marketers often list the picture credits at the end of the post in small text.

Kozzi.com have some free images and some paid or you could try stockfreeimages.com

You can find lots of free stock images here: stock.xchng - the leading free stock photography site
It only takes a few minutes to create an account and you have access to tons of good pictures.

Honestly, from all of my experience and wasted time trying to find free images in the past, I can tell you it's simply not worth it. It's just a waste of both your time and resources trying to hunt down free images when you can purchase the rights to use professional images for as little as $1.

I recommend this site for all my images:

I agree.
Why troubling yourself and worrying about being legal or not. Instead, you could go for a profesional and even ask for some image in particular, instead of looking for hours for the right one.
I would go for the paid version :-D

If you use WordPress, you can use a plugin like Compfight to find creative commons images and the plugin adds the required credits.

Also a lot of images on Wikipedia are creative commons or public domain. But you need to check the individual rights and restrictions to make sure.

If you're willing to pay to get more variety and better quality photos, I have used iStockphoto in the past and would recommend it.

Run a Google search looking for free stock photos/images, creative commons photos/images or public domain photos/images

There's a lot of blogs that have compiled lists of lists for those types of images and you'll be able to easily find them in Google.

But, before you use any of the images, make sure you read the terms for using the images because you may be required to provide specific attribution or there may be certain limitations to using the images.

And, when using Creative Commons licenses, make sure you're using the images in a way that complies with the specific Creative Commons license. There are different types of Creative Commons licenses and not all of them allows the work licensed under a Creative Commons license to be used for Commercial Purposes.

CreationSwap.com has some good high resolution images. The site is Christian based, but many of the images are non-Christian specific and some include the .psd files. They have free vector files and other media files as well and good quality.

I often pay for images from istockphoto. However, I sometimes want to use several each day for various blog posts and I don't mind finding some that don't cost if they are high quality.

I use stockfreeimages.com a lot for free images. You have to give a credit and link back to their site, but they have quite a few that are high quality. I usually check there first and then move on to paid images.

Yes, you need to invest in your business. But even spending $1-5 a day on images can add up fast. That can be a lot for someone just starting out.

When building a blog or website you will need plenty of images.

The internet is built with shared content, so just go ahead on google/bing image search and add them on your site.

You can add a link to give credit to the author and that will be reasonable.

This is a good plan if you are independently wealthy or have a lawyer in the family to handle lawsuits. Posting images from Google or Bing searches to your site without permission is a recipe for disaster,

I have done it for years on my blog. Not an issue ever. But if you are using it for commercial purposes, say a business site or sales page, then I recommend you get royalty free images.

I love istockphoto.com when my budget allows, but I've also found some useful photos at Free Photos - Free Images - Royalty Free Photos - Free Stock Photos - FreeDigitalPhotos.net

The free ones are small, but good quality.

I have used Bing Image too...Not doing it anymore, since you're not supposed to but the chances of getting caught are SO REMOTE! Still, it's not good, it's not ethical! However, I am not paying-- or shall I say-- not yet ready to pay for images when plenty of equal quality are available!
