Do you have a problem monitoring your free trials and subscriptions?

Hey Warriors,

I have 2 problems and I'm wondering if anyone else here has these problems:

I got burned signing up for free trials that required your credit card information before the start of the trial in the past (Netflix, Amazon Prime) and am hesitant to sign up for free trials going forward because of it.

Also, I currently have 2 subscriptions; 1 with Aweber and another with a membership site. My credit card gets charged automatically every month for these. I want to cancel the membership site but I keep forgetting (I know it sounds ridiculous since I only have 2 but I just keep forgetting).

Does anyone else here have a problem tracking free trials and/ or subscriptions or is it just me?

Thanks,
Irwin

I think the majority of the world does, that is why people use them.

I just put a reminder in my iCal.

It's a BIG PROBLEM! I bumped into an interesting stat; companies made over $220M from people who forgot to cancel their free trials in 2011. CRAZY!
Good idea with using iCal. I tried to use google calendar but I always end up snoozing the reminder!

As a merchant myself I love that my customers are able to have full control of their subscription as I don't want people paying for access to sites if they don't actually want to remain a member.
That's right - Paypal! Really nice of you to let your clients take full control of subscriptions; I know there are a bunch of companies out there that just want to charge your credit card automatically (and a lot of people forget about this).

Do you avoid free trials completely because of what happened before?

When I sign up for a free trail, I will know if I'm going to stay with in a hour or two. If I like it I will stay. If I don't I will cancel the same day so I don't forget.
