    Yes, definitely you can.
You can submit your photo to royalty free stock images library such as istockphoto, shutterstock, cobis, Getty images, etc.

You can also use Instagram to boardcast your works.

Yes you can. I've seen some sites that collects pictures from their members and then they sell it, members has royalty on every sales.

It's definitely possible. I think the best way is to submit your work to as many places as possible, even your own personal store. If your work is good, you will be probably contacted to do more custom work.

    Good luck!

Yes, offcourse you can sell photos. I've bougth many photos from 123rf.com

I have about 13 different websites in different niches and 123rf is always a place I go looking for photos on special subjects. If I find a nice photo that just fit my idea what I was looking for, I buy it!

    regards Hans

It's a flooded market, you'll get pennies for most photos, not enough to justify any equipment costs as an actual business.

are you talking about selling stock photography as a photographer, or being the middleman service ex:istockphoto?

OP, Your question is too general and open ended. there are 100's of different avenues "selling pictures on the internet" can fall under.

You can sell stock photos, and some people make good money on it, but you must know how to shoot professional , amateur pics wont cut.
The competition is huge, and for those who make big $ - its a full time job.

Agreed. You must now understand the technical aspects of it like how to end up with your uploads having no noise, what kind of a sensor you really need in your camera body, and what kind of shots typically sell better.

The days of point shoot and post are DONE.

My girlfriend does it! She sells on ebay, only making about a buck a pop. But it certainly is possible.

Also, I know some people--professional photographers actually--who sell through specialized websites for stock photos. They make a great deal more than my girlfriend, who mainly sells pictures of her stupid cat.

I once met a guy when I was travelling who had started taking photos whilst on the road (he'd never take them before) and it turned out he was quite good at it. He uploaded some of his photos to Flickr and someone took notice of them and paid him a decent bit of money for them. He'd ended up being able to fund full time travel from it, so yes you can.

I don't know about those websites but I make money selling photos directly. I have huge letters which I place on beautiful beaches here in Australia, then I climb up high on a cliff and take photos. My clients are companies who want their company name photo taken on a beach, but also individuals with something "I love you Jenny", or just to have something to show on Facebook. It started slowly but I get more and more orders, and though I had to spend a lot of money in the beginning for my equipment I have reached break even now.
