Wordpress and the posting frecuency

Hello, I'm planning to build a wordpress blog in a too specific niche that will consist in a home page where will be developed the subject of the site and a few posts with the review of the products I'll list in the home page. So as being too narrow the niche won't have frecuent post as many people use to advise to rank better, then will my idea work or will be a wast of time? or maybe to do it as an static html site?

I suggest you go with WordPress which is SEO friendly and easy to customize.

Your site will still rank well without frequent updates as long as you are targeting the right keywords and providing valuable content to your readers.

There are themes that allow you to have a static front page but an active blog section. This is done mostly in conjunction with plugins.

The size of the site (number of pages) is not as important as the quality of the content and on-page/off-page SEO.

You also don't have to post new content every day for Google to think you are "active". A post every two weeks or month will keep Google returning to your site to find new content.

A lot will depend on how competitive the niche is and what sites your are ranking against.

Even in a small niche with little available content, you could run into some big authority sites.

Wordpress is usually better to use if you are new.

It takes care of most things you need to rank well and has themes and plugins for the rest.

You want to rank better than your competition. Look at what your competitors are doing. What have they written about?

What do you need to do to make your site better than your competitors websites?

Thanks for the comment, well my doubt arised after reading many time people to say post often, but I wondered why I should post often if my niche is to narrow? then will I rank well anyway?

I think now is all more clear to me

I would advise anyone who is new to always get your own targeted domain name, get hosting, get an autresponder and use Wordpress. It is the easiest platform to use. Just pick a theme you like and get started.

Post a minimum of once a week but make sure that it is unique content and relevant to your niche.

Ariel to make this even more simple, lets you read a blog for a specific niche that doesnt require frequent posting, would you mind if the blog owner posted once in a while?
I guess not, same goes for the search engines.

If your niche is narrow you can post once every week or even less and still enjoy improvements in your search rankings.

If your competition blogs more and more importantly have better quality in their articles then you must try harder.

WP is not related to the frequency of posting or even the niche, its just a great tool to build a blog and sometimes a full blown website too.

My idea is to build a site with an EMD and to list in the home page a top 5 of some electronic product, maybe cellphones, games or any other and make post for review those products listed in the home page so won't be the need of making post more than those unless I add a new product in the ranking replacing an existing one

I think other sites will make the same but I think using an EMD, and making a site exclusively for these I could have an advantage in competence terms, but not sure until take this to the practice and test it

And I don't know why, but I was suspecting maybe an static html site could fit better for a site that doesn't add content often, but just a guess

I am posting about 2 new posts per week on my wordpress blog.

Google likes good quality content, not numerous trash content.

    Hope this helps

a narrow niche does not matter as much as keywords with low search volume.
Do your keyword research for your narrow niche and see how many people are searching for it. Then you can decide if it is a waste of time.

I dun think the issue is with wordpress

One of the proyects has 6,000 exact searches from the US, and the other one 12,000 from the US as well

Both numbers of searches are for the keyword which is also the EMD

First of all, before you start building your website, you have to research on the "searchability" of your niche. A too narrow niche may not have a lot of competition, but it won't have a lot of searches either. Go for a popular niche, but make your keywords specific so that you'll narrow down the competition to a fairly decent number.

Next, in building your website, I would suggest using Wordpress as a platform. It's free (which, in itself is a selling point), and it has a lot of plugins that would help optimize your site. Good luck!

The more updates you do the better it is but you can still make a website with wordpress and focus on making your keywords rank if you're targeting any specific audience you should try geo-targeting that way you can easily get your desired audience

It's .info, but I'm not too worried because the idea is to build a mini site as better as possible to appear in first page of Google so that way not worried about people remembering the extention, in short words, I'm trying to build a efective and optimized mini site

Competition is high but I was thinking maybe as being too specific could have an advantage on site that would treat it just as a post or page the subject, although not sure of course

I think maybe I expressed a bit bad, the niche is tablets and have 450,000 global exact searches, but my site will be specific in treating only about listing the best, just that, so I have an EMD thought for that purpose and that is I was calling a narrow niche, maybe wrong expressed, sorry
