HTML to WordPress - cost to change?

Any idea what it costs, outsourced, to switch a HTML/CSS site over to WP? Anyone ever just handed that over to a website maker to do?

Depends on your current site's features, size, etc. but my price would start from $100 for such job.

    Hey Charles,

There's a wp plugin that will allow you to do this easily yourself.

Go here: WordPress › HTML Import 2 « WordPress Plugins

    Hope this helps!

The price actually depends on many things like integrated features, custom functions and estimated amount of hours it'll take to convert. But, in general, the cost could be somewhere between $300 - $500 for a decent quality work.

I have been scratching my head about this issue for a couple of years. Recently, (right after I purchased some premium WP themes and plugins for this!) I discovered people on fiverr who provided this service.

I can't vouch for the quality of the work, but you may want to check that site out--at $5 it may be worth a try.

Having said that, I suspect if you were to get a senior developer at a freelance site or in the WF, you'd get good results.

Hope that helps. and give you yet another alternative!

    Chet.

Does anybody know if you would have to re-SEO your site after a conversion like this? That's also one thing i'm worried about...

Why would it be different so you have to "re-SEO" the site? WordPress can output the exact same tags/structure with your HTML site depends on how you set it up. It changes nothing except the way you manage your content and/or overall site.

Seen people on fiverr do this for about 30-50 bucks.

If you keep the url structure same as before, then you will not have to re-rank your pages. In my case, I usually charge around $70-$350, depending on the complexity.

the mininum cost for converting a simple html webpage to wordpress is around $67.

Pick the quality web developer to ensure quality work done on the conversion.

I am sure don't want to deal with someone who mess up the code.

odesk or vworker both are the great place to seek the work to be done.

I'm being quoted $1500 to have my site switched over to wordpress (Beveled Glass Doors Georgia | Front Doors Florida | Glass Entry Doors Alabama) is this unreasonable?

    That's really too expensive.

If they offered to do that for $150 it would be more reasonable.
