If you were FORCED to choose one monetization model...

Let's pretend that your life depended on choosing the best way to monetize your website, which would you choose?

Adsense? Clickbank? Amazon? Something else?

Pick the ONE that you know without a shadow of a doubt that you could make enough money to survive on within the next 6 months.

Which one would you choose? Why?

Is one easier than another? Is it because one offers bigger commissions?

when I first started experimenting with making money from blogging just over 4 years ago I experimented with a number of options. The reason that I stuck with AdSense was that even as a complete technical idiot I could get an AdSense ad unit up and running on my blogs within minutes. Of course since that time AdSense have made implementing ad units on blogs even easier (particularly in the last couple of weeks with server side ad management). While other ad networks have followed in the footsteps of AdSense in how they let publishers design and add ad units to blogs – I still find AdSense one of the easiest to use. This makes it ideal for the beginner wanting to experiment for the first time with an advertising network.

It was the first and only business model that has allowed me to earn consistent income.

Right now I am in love with Amazon, and it was Amazon that got me to break up with Adsense. But Seriously, if you spend some time here and do some searches you will find that it is not so much the method of monetization but how hard you are willing to work.

You are only the one that knows what "survive" means. For a single person renting an apartment with a room mate, no car, small bills, and willing to starve a bit means one thing. Providing a good quality of life for a family of 5 or 6 is a completely different beast all together.

I think that's really the beauty of IM, multiple streams of low overhead income. You can't choose between one or the other, when the CJ check hits monthly, the Adsense check hits monthly, the amazon check hits monthly... siloing into one category leaves you very vulnerable in the age of panda and competition.

    Affiliate marketing with paid traffic.

The fastest and easiest method no doubt.
Though you need some capital involved.

I would stick with ClickBank. As I can see that there are tons of good high-paying commission products on their marketplace. You can never go wrong with CB.

I would definitely collect my website visitors information in a list. Then, I would offer them good advice and products from clickbank, amazon and lots of other networks as well. No need to chose!

    Good Luck.

Wow, hard choice! But if I really had to choose one, it would be CPA. Once I learnt how to use CPA for IM, I started consistently making money.

List building plain and simple. Building a responsive list is the key to making a long term income online.

I would add a mailing list optin to my website and build my list. I would then choose affiliate marketing as my one monetization method.

Why? Because I will never run out of products to sell. If I focused on selling only my products, I would be restricted by how fast I could create new products. Working as an affiliate, I can instead keep an eye on what the world is doing.

List building is the way to go and monetization of it depends on your niche,
for internet marketing i'd use Clickbank to promote others and my own products

My model of choice would be self-publishing through Amazon Kindle. It's what fits my nature. I write well, I'm communicative and nobody needs to know exactly which books are mine or not, depending on the pen name I use.

I feel that AdSense is finicky. I feel that leaving your money in the hands of an affiliate program is more stable than AdSense, but still a little shaky due to the nature of the Affiliate Marketing Game.

You can never produce too many books if you know what you're doing.
