Questions concerning Optimize Press and DAP and selling a digital produxt!

I have been putting together on informational product composed of pdf files and videos. I am just not understanding how to put it all together to sell online.
I have done research and I understand the about the squeeze page but after that it gets very cloudy for me.

As in using DAP and Optimize Press in conjunction with each other to sell the product.

Do I still need to open a word press blog or do I need to use e-junkie to send them the link to download the product?

I am very new to this whole thing and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

OptimizePress by itself is nothing - it is just a theme. In WordPress lingo "themes" are template files used to display the content of a WordPress powered site.

WordPress (WP), on the other hand, is just a "publishing engine"; i.e. a CMS =content management system.

WP is the engine that powers your site.
The 'content' is whatever you write (posts, Pages) and hit the publish button. The content in any WP powered site is stored in a database.
The presentation (layout, design, appearance) is provided by the "themes".

You can have a WP powered site and lots of content in it (like a blog or other informational site) and you can switch from one theme to another... having the same content displayed with various design/layout.

Now, OptimzePress is a special kind of animal: a theme created for marketers, having built-in tools for creating the most often used type of pages in a sales funnel.

BTW, if you are selling a product, you don't necessarily need a "squeeze" page, where the only goal of the page is to 'squeeze out' the email address of the visitor.

You don't need a "blog" per se, but you need WP installed in order to be able to use OptimizePress.
DAP is also a WP plugin - which does nothing without a WP installation.

If you have those 2 (the theme and the plugin) you don't need ejunkie...

[I am just wondering WHY did you purchase those two tools, if you have no idea how to use them...?]

What I plan to do is use the Optimize Press to sell the product or shall I say to get the consumer really interested and wanting the product. At the bottom of the page there will be a buy now button where the consumer will buy the product. Once the transaction goes through I don't know haw they would receive the informational products. I have not bought DAP yet but i was think of using on a blog to keep my informational products safe. I just don't understand how to link it all together as far as after they purchase from the Optimize Press squeeze page how do I get them the PDF files and the videos?
I was thinking they would get it through and email!?!?

To start with the last one: NO, they will NOT get in email... Your buyers would kill you if you send huge PDF and video files through emial

Maybe you should spend some time learning about what we call "sales funnel".
I.e. how do you get your visitors? Where do they arrive/land? > that would be your landing page. What are they suppose to do there? Reading your info OR signing up for your list to get more info (that's the squeeze page)? And what will happen after that? How do they get to your sales page? Do you have a sales copy done already?

What is in your plans the page where "at the bottom there is a buy button"? < That page must be a sales copy!

Every payment solution (paypal or DAP or others) will take the buyer back to your "download" page to get their product. The main issue is NOT how they get back there: the real issue is whether that download page is protected (like with DAP) or not (like with Paypal or OptimzePress...)
There are also many different solutions to secure your download page, so only buyers can access it.

But first you have to figure are (at least for yourself) the whole process: the flow. Step by step.

Try to visit different sales pages and squeeze pages. Sign up for free offers (after that you can unsubscribe) just to see how and where do they take you - in this way you will understand rapidly how a sales funnel works.

Think of OptimizePress as the front end of your site and DAP as the backend.

On the front end, your goal is to get leads interested in your product and ultimately purchase it, right?

So you can this a few different ways. You can set up a squeeze page and offer an opt in incentive like a free PDF or free training video in exchange for a prospect's email and then send them a few more valuable emails and then promote your product. So it would look like this:

Lead comes to your squeeze page -> enters name/email -> receives freebie in their inbox -> Receives a few more value-giving emails from you -> receives a promotional email from you saying "hey I think you'd really get a lot of value out of this product, check it out", and visits your sales page -> purchases product.

This is the most common way, and arguably the most effective way, to sell a digital product.

So that's the front end part.

Once a lead purchases your product and becomes your customer, that's where DAP comes in. This is the backend part.

DAP integrates with your payment processor (paypal, Clickbank, Digiresults, etc.) so when somebody buys your product, they automatically receive an email with their login/password and a link to the protected members area (which DAP protects from casual visitors by prompting them with a login/pass to view the content).

DAP also allows you to set up multiple products, including upsells and downsells that complement your course. You can have a monthly recurring billing cycle.

You can set up various membership levels if you have a tiered product (bronze, gold, platinum, you get the picture) and do a million other things that you may want for your product.

That's the basic gist of setting up an info product using OptimizePress + DAP but there's a lot more to it like HOW to set up the squeeze page to get decent conversions, how to write sales copy that converts, how to structure your offer. That stuff will take time, research and trial and error.

But you're taking action, so you'll get there eventually. ;-)

Hello, I am new to affiliate marketing and online selling but just set up optimize press 2.0 membership site using optimizemember plugin.

I am selling an ebook/audio course and want to make it an affiliate product using ejunkie but it looks like OPmemebers plugin does not allow for affiliate integration???

Am I missing something? What do I need to do.

www.surivivingsarcoidosis.com is my site and right now I just have it set up with paypal pay options and no affiliate integration.

    Thanks, Dani

      Hello,

Optimize Press is a theme that is designed for internet marketers and there are many good plugins available for membership sites and securing content -- DAP, s2Member, Wishlist, etc.

What different solutions is everyone using to secure their digital product download page, so only buyers can access it? Does anyone use Amazon S3? Curious.

      Thanks.

    Hi itservicebiz,

We highly recommend that you use Amazon S3 to store all of your media. If you store them on your site, even if you protect them, having potentially tens or hundreds of people repeatedly download them from your (maybe) inexpensive, shared server, can get your hosting account in trouble for using up too much bandwidth and/or server resources.

See the 2nd question at Storing and Protecting Video, Audio and Other File Formats -- DAP Documentation .
