Best time of week for sending emails

Anyone out there know - from personal success - the best time of week to send emails to your list?

My belief has always been Tuesday or Wednesday. When selling offline I always found Monday to be the best time to mail appointment letters. Didn't want to mail them Wednesday - Sat because the weekend and Monday didn't seem to be the best times to expect your mail to be opened. Mailing on Monday's worked perfectly because they'd get the mailer on Tuesday or Wednesday, which I found to be the best time to follow up and schedule appointments.

That's my reasoning for thinking Tuesday or Wednesday are the best email days but I haven't done conclusive research to confirm it, which is why I wanted to know.

Thanks in advance for any input!

It depends upon the specific list you're e-mailing to.

    There's no one-day-fits-all answer.

Split your list in two and send the exact same message
out to each half of your list on different days. Then
test and track to find the best day for YOUR list over
    time.

Also, take a look at your site analytics to see what the
busiest day and time is for your site in general to give
you a starting point for your tests.

    Dedicated to mutual success,

    Shaun

You know I was wondering about that and it makes sense. Specific lists could be effected by different niches.

When selling to offline businesses I found the best time of day to call on restaurants was 2-4 pm, when you could talk with most restaurant owners. But with Subway it was 9:30-10 am, so even within the industry it varied on the kind of restaurant.

Heating and air companies were best around 8-9 am, when the owner was in the office, but they'd already sent their crews out. Plumbers between 7-8 am. Dentists were best either very early or very late in the day, and sometimes just after lunch - if you wanted to speak with the dentist and not the office manager.

Realizing that everyones list is different - does anyone know if there are any similar best times by niche?

weekdays from tuesday to thursdays are best for mailing. Mostly from fri to mon, you will get very less response. If your list is mainly from internet marketing then mailing any day will get same response.

From some split-testing I've been doing, Saturday morning converted surprisingly well for me, but I guess it's different depending on how your list reacts.

      What niche is that in?

I mail Tuesday and Thursday for my main emails. Any emails that aren't opened I resend on Saturday, part of my list only seems to look at emails on the weekends.

One of my lists sends on Mon-Wed-Fri and another on Tues-Thurs. My Mon-Wed-Fri list gets more opens.

I avoid the weekends since they've been the lowest converting for me.

If they are spammy emails that are being sent, send them on Friday nights. That way I won't remember having read them when I wake up Saturday afternoon

The most important thing is to be consistent. Even sending emails daily (crazy but strike while the irons hot) I say pick a day and stick to it- pave your own lane.

The best time of week to send an email is when you have something important to email your list about.

    Seriously.
