Sales process question

I'm a little unclear about how the sales process for a product should go. After someone clicks the buy button they are taken to a paypal screen where they accept payment. Then are they taken to a Thank you page? What information should be on a thank you page? Then do you email them the product? When do you get their email address? Thank you.

If you use a product delivery system like GetDPD.com or JVzoo.com, then you don't need to worry about too much of the after the sale stuff, because they will handle payment verification and product delivery for you under certain configurations.

Otherwise, you will need to add a Thank You page to the product delivery systems (who will handle payment verification), so that your customer can access the product after purchase.

Doing it by hand is a lot more complicated.

Can you recommend some good product delivery services?

The thank you page is where your customers come to 'after' they have purchased your product. You now know that they have spent money so you can promote an upsell, or a one time offer (should you choose).

The thank you page should ideally contains a link to the product.
    Eg.
    www.YourSite.com/Thank-You-Page.htm

    Link -->
    www.YourSite.com/DownloadProductFolder/YourEbook.pdf

The top of the thank you page can contain a messages such as:

Thank you for the purchase of my product which will help you do XYZ DREAM

You can also email them the product in addition to offering it on your thank you page.

How you get their email address depends on which method you are using for your sales. Clickbank? RAP? $7DSS? You didn't state that.

Here's a video that may help you. There are any number of scripts and services that can automate the process.

On the email address part of your question, you will get their email address when they make their payment, unless you have set things up to grab the email address earlier. But as the others have stated, the best option is to automate the delivery of the product. The problem with download pages is that the address can be passed out to who knows how many people or posted on the web, unless you password protect it. But the automated systems solve that problem nicely.

The process is correct. On your thank you page, have the product ready to download, and (optionally), a link to your next product that you want to sell to them.

You can either import them by hand into your backend autoresponder sequence, or use a product like DLGuard to automate it all for you.

From what I have experience with most big marketers, most of them will direct them to an opt in page where the customers will need to register to get access to the products that they have purchased.

Of course I will expect an OTO to be offered once I have register for the account. This is the normal way that I know many marketers used to build a customers list and making more money at the same time.
