There is a theory that the "gurus" figure out how to make money online work with it make lots of cash until the system drys up and then sells that method using other traffic/marketing sources

so with all the recent threads on list building is the system dead no and be sold to newbies

    1. Maybe...

    2. And maybe there are a lot of people who are really making damn good money from their lists...

    3. And maybe the people saying that list building is dead are those who have never had a clue how to make money with a list...

    Take your pick...

    I will go with #2.

I reckon a combination of 2 and 3 to be honest.

I don't see the logic behind saying list building is dead at all. Will people suddenly stop reading emails and suddenly stop buying things?

I just don't see it happening any time soon thank God.

List building will never be dead.

It is free, on-demand traffic that trusts you. It is a list of people you have direct contact with that have demonstrated a degree of interest in your niche. Lists are priceless, and no internet marketing system is complete without one.

It depends on how you build your lists IMO going for opt-ins from sellers who are pushing their lists over and over again will make the conversion go down for a simple reason: the people from those lists will start to receive a lot of offers, will start to read less e-mails and since they don't sleep on money, they will reach the maximum amount of money they have to spend and stop throwing on other offers.

All the things I mentioned are flexible depending on many factors, but the main idea still stands.

or maybe the gurus dont have find time to say their list over and over again because each time a newbie comes, he/she will always ask for a list. :p

I started list building 6 years ago, and was making great money back then, I still list build to this day and make a lot more money than I did back then.

It's only dead for people who don't know what they are doing.

The great thing about list building is that is transcends media.

If doesn't matter where your subscriber comes from, be it email lists, google, 7search, TV ( yes people still watch TV), a road sign - doesn't matter - they express interest in what you know and/or sell.

And list building was around long before the Internet - I get lots of catalogues in the mail and have for a LONG time. Auto-responders make it a lot easier to contact your subscriber, but it's just an electronic postcard at the end of the day.

If google and facebook were to drop off the face of the planet tomorrow, it wouldn't matter a whit to someone with a good solid subscriber-ship.

      Yep.

The more people who realize that list building is a scam, the better off we will be, when all of our competitors quit and leave the marketplace for us to work on our own.

With much less competition for the attention of our subscribers, the more money we will make. LOL

In online business the money is in your lists.
List building is good for newbies and experts.
People will say list building is dead because they don't know how important building a lists for your online business. Most successful internet marketers are because of the lists they have.

People like Ewen Chia and Dan Brock think it’s still alive. That means they’ll say it’s dead…

Just do cold marketing, then you’ll learn a thing or two.

It is not and probably will never die, atleast in our lifetime.. Is it harder than it used to be to keep our list's attention? Yes it is because they have so much more being thrown at them these days, so with that said we have to be more creative with our engaging etc..

    Good luck man!

      1. Is list building dead??

      Absolutely NOT

      2. Has list building been written about to death?

      Absolutely

      3. Does the average WF member have more than enough gigs of listbuilding knowledge/information/wso's on their computer and in their brains to have massive success building a list if they really wanted to and put fourth the effort?

      Very likely

Many people spread false lies. Why You Ask? It's simple when something works really well you don't want others doing it.

Article Marketing is dead. hmmmm... Yes and No If you want to spin 50 articles and submit them to 50 articles website, then by all means article marketing is dead lol. If you personally write a good 500-750 word real article that will actually help someone instead of selling them something, then no article marketing is not dead.

Ponder this... Everything Works Yet Everything Doesn't Work.

Who said list building is dead?!! The fact that you're asking the question tells me you don't believe the guru

How could it be dead? That's like saying having a business is still cool, but customers, well they're so last year... Just don't make the money they used to...

    The answer is NO!

It is always easier to sell to your existing customers than to try and convert new leads to customers. And of course your existing customers are your list (or at least your most important list). So, don't think of it as lists or list building. Think of it as leads (or potential customers) and existing customers. That they are on a list is just because they have to be. How else would you market to them?
