Facebook - should I use website name or my name ?

Hello Warriors,
I want to start a Facebook page related to my website.

I would like to know if it's better to use the pen name in the Facebook page to create good connection with my visitors or should I use the website name.

I can use a pen name to separate my personal Facebook account and my website account. The website name is optimised for seo purposes so I am not quite sure it's the best option.

Can you tell me what you are doing ?

Thank you
Jack

Use the website name or business name. Sounds much better than personal name. At least that is what I do.

I agree, use your web site or business name. If you have a personal Facebook account, make sure you keep that completely separate from your business Facebook account, you will want your personal account to be as private as possible and you will want your business account to be as public as possible.

According to Facebooks TOS you are only allowed ONE Facebook "account". This needs to be under your REAL name.

Once you are logged into your Facebook "account" you can create pages and groups. You will want to create a "page" for your business website or sites within your "account".

This keeps your personal timeline separate from your business timelines.

Do NOT create multiple Facebook "accounts". You will eventually wake up one day with all your accounts, pages and groups gone and banned from Facebook. Best to follow their rules and do it right.

its your Business Facebook Page, so for that and search engine optimization it is best you use the business name. Besides you wouldn't someone else taking it before you do.

Idealistically i would agree with you.

But reality, it aint gonna happen, unless u use ur multiple accounts to do something illegal or bad.
But if its just for business, i doubt 100% they will bann ur account.
      WHY?

Simple, the more accounts they have, the more "asset" their company seem to have.
Thats how their company's value/worth is inflated, just like all their statistics and their shares..

We will have to disagree on that. Facebook just did a ton of fake account bans and many real ones got caught in the cross fire.

They are getting more and more aggressive to eliminate fake accounts.

Anyone creating fake accounts is asking for nothing but trouble these days.

          Hi there Rob

Yea i know, i read that article.
From what i know, its spam accounts like tom, tom21221, tom99999, accounts like this that has no content inside.
Accounts that people make to inflate likes etc.

BUT if your account is a business account that has real contents, they wont bust you.

There are many other "null" accounts and with names that doesnt make sense as well.

Those are the ones that get deleted.

If there are content and real connections, they wont shut it down.

I see all the government agencies having their own facebook page.

And companies have their own FB page. as in accounts.

I know of personal frens who are in charge of company fb accounts and they do open new accounts.

Using the same computer for registering and maintaining the account.

So if FB does shut down accounts with same IP address, then all those who use landshop to register and use fb will be ban.

And all those employees who register and maintain companys fb account will all be ban as well.

So maybe im missing something, i am open to correction, but to me it doesnt make sense for them to shut down this group of people.

I agree 100% about the spam type accounts getting closed all the time. But what I was actually talking about where real looking accounts. Have talked to a lot of people that have had multiple real looking accounts getting closed along with their REAL account.

Seems to be happening more and more. Also had a relative that has many kids in the same house. All their accounts got closed all at the same time. That's what I call getting hit in the cross fire.

Multiple accounts (real + fake) are just not needed. You can setup as many pages in one account as you want. So why risk it by using fake accounts? That's all I am really saying.

But of course... Each persons mileage may and will vary.

Website name for your Facebook page is good for business as it is your brand name. You can create another page for your name's profile if you want.

I thought that if I use my name it will create a nice connection between me and my readers. I am writing a blog and selling products through my blog.

You should set up a Facebook account with your real name - then set up a Facebook page for your website. This is the best way..

If you enter your own name then more or less it will appear as your own personal page and will not helps a lot to increase your companies traffic. If you use your concern's name then it will help you a lot to make your customer get easier

One more thing... Be sure to reserve your desired Fan Page Username after 25 likes. Hint (facebook.com/topkeyWord) of your business. To do this I would buy 500 likes for 8-10.00 at seoclerks or socialnetadd before you invite friends or potential clients. This makes your page look busy but not so many likes it looks fake. Be sure to fill your page with interesting 40 word custom articles links and youtube videos for better interaction from friends and associates. I Do this service for my clients for 50.00 on the norm but its easy to do yourself. Peace :-)

Yes if you're having a business you should use the business name but if you are just targeting for traffic sometimes you name after your profession as well

Another vote for business/website name. It would help make your contacts remember your business name. It's good that you followed that suggestion. Good luck.

I think you should just set up a Facebook Page on your own account, with your business name/keyword as its "title." It'll make things a bit easier for you since you'd only use one account, hence, one username and password. However, make sure to keep your personal and business contacts separate from one another. You can just invite your personal contacts to visit your facebook page and click through the links that will lead to your website. You can also join groups related to your business and invite its members to visit your site.

I think if you use your web site name as your page name which helps to find your web site when people visit you fb page then there is a probability to visit your site.So try to use web site name

    Hi everyone,

you can have just one account with Facebook
so under your account you can create a fan page
and I would call it as your website name!

All the best and see you on top
