websites just indexed and getting spam about onsite optimisation advice already

  • Mark and report it as SPAM. I got the same e-mail as John mentioned above. Just don't let it ruin your day or your working time.

    It's a PITA, but hey it's a website too.

  • I know the feeling. Any contact page I put up gets 'NO' tags in the head, like:

    <meta name="robots" content="noindex,nofollow,noarchive"/>
    It also does not get a name like 'contact.html.' It will be something like m/co.php.

    In spite of that, they still find and spam the forms, although only about half as often as they did before those changes.

    I guess it's just one more thing to thank the xrumer types of software for.
  • It's amazing isn't it how quickly these people get onto the site?

    I also got ones for meds too. What I find strange is how they think that will help them? It's not like it's on the net - it ends up e-mailed, so junk like that isn't going to help them and is a waste of their time, and mine.

    There are a lot of comments that come through the same - I can understand that, just in case it gets approved their information is out there. It annoys me no end though!
