Need some friendly advice about a huge decision

Hey everyone,

I am hoping someone can settle a long debate I have been having about a project I am working on.

I created a blog site that has been doing really well in the self development niche (first page, top spot of google for most of my keywords), and I have been getting a lot of steady traffic for almost a year now.

I only created blog post, and a free report and told my subscribers about the final product they can purchase as soon as it's done and I have built up a pretty good list of ppl waiting for its release.

Here is the main problem I have been having...

I am not too sure on what type of product I should create...

I started writing a book, I've recorded a few audio sessions, and I've shot some screen capture videos (Three different approaches that could be three different products).

Being that I know each one can be marketed in different ways, I couldnt decide on which one I should just do...The book, the Audio course, or a video course, or should I just combine them all and make one big course and potentially charge more money...

I haven't been able to just choose one and I needed some advice from other like minded people...I hope some of you can share your thoughts...What would you do if this were you?? What type of product would you create???

Thanks in advanced,

Josh

Start with the ebook, and use the audio and video versions as an upsell.

Ask your audience what they want? You could do a poll or keep it informal. By including them in the process, it may also make it easier for you to get more sales because they will be somewhat invested if a lot of people respond to the poll.

Create a video course, and then up-sell an actual print book. Amazon has a service where they will only charge you per single copy to print a book, and you don't have to have any printed until they sell. For example, you sell 1 book today, you buy one of your books from amazon, they print it and ship it to your customer, you keep the profit. You could also do a audio course or video course and then offer a kindle book as an OTO.

I don't think I'd do a pdf ebook if you can create a quality video course and kindle book. It sounds like your subscribers have been waiting awhile for your product, so they are going to expect it to be quality, and there's nothing in a pdf that really screams quality (other than the information of course).

Thanks for the advice, I might just ditch the whole ebook Idea in full...Ive been debating on whether or not If I did decide to write a book, would I just make a physical one instead...I think I would be more proud of myself for doing that in the end...Also, I do know that If I did decide to write a book I would somehow try to include the audio version in some shape or form.

Any clue on what the name of that Amazon service is btw??

      Thanks

        Hi,

If you have been blogging for a year and have been successful, you must have a lot of comments on your blog. Often people ask questions in comments. You can create a FAQ ebook based on the comments on your blog or forums in your niche.

People often want to learn about self development, you can create a kindle book or books the topics of the FAQ.

Lastly, like JD Sallinger suggested ask your audience. You can send your list a questionnaire.

        Best of luck,

        Dita

Thank You I Will Definitely try to poll my subscribers

It's been awhile since I've worked with their print options, but I think it's the createaspace platform. Here's a link to their self-publishing page.

I also like the suggestion to poll your audience. I did that back when I was getting my first blog off the ground and it helped a lot. I just created a poll at the top asking people what they would like me to write more about.

Last but certainly not least, if you decide to create a kindle book, formatting can be a nightmare if you don't know how to do it properly. If you send me a PM I'll provide you a copy of my latest Video Tutorial series on the subject in exchange for a review on my WSO page.

I would also make the ebook lower priced and make the video+audio combo an upsell.

The funny thing about upsell products is that they convert better as an upsell than if you were trying to sell them alone.

Every few months I'll go back to an old niche site list and do the Frank Kern 50% off sale, and get a bunch of sales from people that had been sitting on the list, and several of them buy the upsell which together is a lot more than the original price of the front end course.

    Sorry for the tangent.

    Hey Josh

I always like to start with a book, then upsell to a video/audio package.
