Hardworker Struggling with Bum Marketing

I have been writing articles recently (about 200 in the last 2 weeks) and I am getting stressed out because I cannot convert the traffic into sales. For example, I have this on my ezinearticles account (Author Name: Richard Shelmerdine)

Article(s) Views:26,243
Profile Views:530
Articles Published:21
URL Clicks:1,758
Votes:1
Subscribers:1
Live Articles:200

I have had 7 sales so far. I went through a patch 2 weeks ago where I made 6 sales in a week then I have had nothing for 2 weeks, I think it is because my articles are not ranking in Google. I thought that maybe it was due to me not having dense enough keywords so I wrote some articles of about 300-400 keywords with a density of roughly 1.5-2% and they seem to be indexed but are not at the top of the results.

(These 1.5% keyword density articles are entitled Why do women dump men, why men dump women - 4 signs to look out for, warning signs of a breakup - look out for these 3 clues, getting over breakup pain - 3 tips to fulfillment). The targeted keywords are in BOLD.

Since those 4 articles went live yesterday, I have had 133 views, 7 URL clicks and no sales.

Over the last week, I have had 130 Hops with no sales in clickbank and over the last 15 days, I have had 427 hops with just 2 sales. Why the sudden drop? I have stopped writing articles ok but i went from 6 in a week to nothing for 2 weeks? It it just because I was getting people buying when they came across my blog on ezinearticles rather than through the search engines.

I have wrote a lot of articles on making up after a relationship break up
quite a few on fat loss,
quite a few on memory from a while back
and various others to a lesser extent.

I seriously want to make a go of this as you can see by the amount of work that I have put in. I am not interested in the latest software as I am interested in free ways only for now. Is it my niches, the fact that I am redirecting to a blogspot blog (not willing to pay for a site yet)? It is so annoying to see all these people who say that they make £1000/day and I believe that this can make you good money but it does not seem to work for me.

How can I start making $75/day doing this within 2 months maximum?

Cheers in advance

Don't take this the wrong way but your URL click through rate is horrible! You need to take a good look at your articles and start testing different resource boxes, how your writing them, grammer ect.

At 26,000 views you should strive for at least a 33% URL click rating. Yours is at .066%

At 33% you would of had 8580 URL clicks which is almost 8 times what you have now. Thus you probably would have also had 8 times the sales (56 sales) if not more.

Without seeing your articles, I cannot give you a whole lot better information than that, but thats where you need to start looking. You've obvioulsy put in the work which is GREAT! Now you need to start doing a little tweaking to your work and get your clickthrough's up.

33% is just a number to strive for, you obviously want more than that, but anything under that I would be trying to figure out why and what I could do to make it better.

      Hi Richard,

First, congrats on putting in all that work to write the articles. That is no small task!

I have to second the prior poster's comment about your resource box. I was curious so I went to check it out. I copied it here:

Would you like to be the envy of all your friends and have the other sex stop in their tracks whenever you walk by?

Find out the secrets to a stunning body from a product that made $21,000,000 (yes, Million) in 12 months {Click Here} - I removed the link.

I like how you used a question but there is a disconnect with "a product that made $x." If I'm reading your article, I'm probably not interested in sales.... can you tell me how this product is going to keep women from dumping me (and lead me into the fact that this is a weight loss product and why this one is the best for me)?

Hope that helps! Please let us know how your stats improve.

Another thought is that I've noticed a drop around April 15th -- when people are paying their taxes.

        Hi,

I take a look at your articles. If I want to know how to get over a break up I will not be interested in a weight loss program. I think this the reason why you have such a low CTR.

Try ending your article like this instead:

Try comforting him and telling him that you are still the same person that you were when you met.

Now, if you are fearing that your girlfriend are about to dump you, then....

          [ressource box starts here]

read on and learn what you can do to prevent it, today!

I'll take you by the hand and show you exactly what to do and what to say to get your ex lover back in your arms- Especially if you are the only one trying...
          Bonus: 2 FREE videos inside

          ---------------
I bet ya this will increase your CTR.
Try to write every ressource box specifically to each article, while writing the article.

          oh.. one more thing.

Insted of "click here" for your links, use your keywords

          Hope that helps.

One problem may be 200 articles in 2 weeks. That's a LOT of articles in a 326 hour period. Are you writing these from scratch or PLR?

You may want to take a close look at quality vs quanity.

You should also understand that article marketing is more of a mid to long range strategy, so you can bet you will be garnering income from these articles for a long time to come.

Start doing some re-writes where needed and focus in on what you want your reader to do after reading the article.

Congratulations are in order also; you are doing what many will never do - you're taking ACTION!

Did you social bookmark your ezinearticels articles? I know from own experience that this makes a big difference.

I have been doing bum marketing myself for quite a while now. Results dropped drastically in the past month. Not sure why... is clickbank broken or is it the economy? Well...

You should also improve your resource box to increase click through rate. Look at the resource box of other authors in the same niche to get an idea what might give you best results in a certain niche.

The best advise I can give you is.
    1. Don't write any more articles right now.
    2. Use this time to test out your articles. By this, how you are telling your readers to take action? Test every combination. Rearrange everything to see the best click through rates
    3. Try not sending them directly to the affiliate, collect emails instead. An optin list could be more valuable for you. Test it. Try sending them to a blog and capture them too.

    4. Use these articles and variations to build back links to your domain.

It's all about testing. Hope this helps.
