How can we make sure we read a honest review?

Lately a lot of the sixpack shorcut adds were everywhere and I decided to check what is all this buzz so I actually read it all.It seems to good to be real so I looked for reviews on the web, what I found it a lot of affiliates that of course are giving great review.
It made me thinking, someone who's an affiliate will never post a bad review and the truth is that there are not a lot of bloggers who are reviewing products and they are not affiliates.
How can I be sure that the article I'm reading is real?

It can be difficult. Try looking for a material connection disclosure on the website, or seeing if the links the Blogger's use are redirect URLs.

If the blogger is an affiliate, but they don't clearly disclose that fact in the blog post, then you can safely discount the review.

If you're looking for fitness information, you might want to try Amazon Kindle eBooks. You'll find dozens of reviews on the product page for each eBook, and although not all of them are real or unbiased, most of them will be legitimate customer reviews.

Only by developing trust in someone who has real credibility and gradually offers increasing evidence of that to you, while building a relationship with you. Especially if you've previously bought things on their recommendations and never been disappointed. That's why marketers who are professional at list-building and communicating with their subscribers are the ones making most of the money.

Otherwise it's very difficult, if you can't find reviews written by people who aren't affiliates (and sometimes you can't).

I agree to some extent. But let me point out one interesting observation. I've actually noticed some affiliates offering BAD reviews. I'm guessing it's a marketing tactic. But think about the reverse psychology angle. Also, it helps that affiliate stand out from the crowd by saying something different.

Hmmm.....perhaps I should be doing more of this.....

That's a tough one. You can look for forums in that market to see of real people have shared their experiences with it, but it's a pain in the a$$ to wade through the countless content posted by affiliates.

Generally I scan through reviews, then I check out if there's a refund policy and then I buy using my credit card that has better protection than Paypal does. This way I have more recourse. If I'm buying from someone I know and trust then I'll use Paypal, otherwise I use a credit card. It usually offers more protection.

Its an honest review btw. hehe. [just got itchy on that]

U cant really tell, unless u know the person or already trust him or there is a system of trust inbuilt into the platform in which u are reading the review.

      Like example in this forum.

If u see that he is an establish member, long standing, and many ppl know him etc. You might tend to belief him.

Compared to someone who just joined and have very little post. And not much contribution although he might be genuine, its just the way how human psychology works.

Its not that all strangers tell lie, is just that u cant tell which ones are, so generally u dont listen to strangers. Thats what my mama told me since i was born.

I think the best way is to be familiar with someone's previous work. Find writers that you trust and follow their work.

    You can't.

Some people will only promote products that they personally have used and are happy with, but unfortunately it is quite common for affiliates (especially big names) to endorse stuff that they have not even tried.
