Redirecting domains to clickbank products..is this ok?

As per question really...if I bought a relevant domain name to a given niche, and redirect it straight to a clickbank product, would this be 'ok' with google, or ethical even? Or is this common practice?

Sorry if this is a daft question

It's very common to use domains to redirect to affiliate products. No, it isn't unethical (at least, I can't think of any reasons why it would be considered unethical). I don't know how Google feels about it, but they seem to dislike affiliate marketers in general, so...they probably don't like it much.

There's no problem regarding Google, or "ethics".

Here's what ClickBank has to say on the subject, though ...

Source: All About HopLink "To ensure proper tracking of your HopLink referrals, your HopLink needs to open into the top level of a new or existing window. For most affiliates, this is not a problem. However, some affiliates attempt to hide their HopLinks by having them open into other types of sub-window objects, such as frames, iframes, layers, applets, or images. These types of HopLinks are considered invalid, and can result in lost affiliate referral credit, incorrect display of your website, or, in the case of abuse of the HopLink system, could result in account termination without notice."

Not so much by direct-linking without pre-selling and list-building. This thread may help you: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post7110523

Not a daft question at all this is pretty much common practice and probably most of us do this. As you are not trying to rank the domain then it's nothing to be concerned about.

Nothing to do with Google as the traffic is not coming from search results so there is nothing that can harm rankings of any other sites that you may have.

Perfectly safe practice, wise thing to do, and quite ethical.

        Hope this helps

        Hello Alexa!

What redirect system do you recommend for a Maxbounty product? Also should the domain name be exactly relevant to the product I am promoting?

It is a bit of a silly question, but I have been away from IM for a long time and have forgotten how to do this

        Thanks

Sorry, I have no idea ... I barely know what "Maxbounty" is (CPA, maybe? I don't do CPA!), so I'd better not start guessing.

          Others will reply!

Yes, it's simple as that because most CPA marketers always cloak the affiliate links with their own domain names and redirect to the actual page. But, now mostly they use landing page instead.

The domain is not a must to be exactly relevance to the offer, but you will get more conversion if you use relevance domain name.

I just wanna tell you that most of the links in the signature are trash and/or a trap to make you pay!

            Hello!

After cloacking a link how do you do a redirect?

This could be done through you domain control panel. It is different from one registrar to others, so just your domain registrar for how to redirect domain name. It could be to the offer page or you own direct landing page.

    Thanks for the replies

I have been banging my head at IM for around 2 years (with studying and family keeping me occupied too!) and have never considered doing this. I have a few domains that are literally empty now sitting there, I am going to get some redirects on them and get some traffic to the domains asap!

Anyone here have success doing this, maybe via article marketing?

More than likely if you can benefit from clickthrough traffic, also depends on your niche. I doubt you'd get any high rankings with just a domain and links back from external sources though, as a personal opinion of course.

I wouldn't think it would be an issue. If you are only using that domain for redirects, it wont have any seo value though.

It is perfectly fine. In fact, you should use a tracker to redirect your urls for precise tracking.
