INTERNET MARKETING

I want to purchase a highly competive keyword rich domain that gets about 135,000 searches a month according to the google keyword tool. The .com is already taken, would I be making a mistake purchasing the .me domain, would my site every rank on the frist page with .me domain? Do SE's realy care what your domain is? The keyword is exactly what the site is.

Forget the .me. If the .com isn't available, see if the .org is. Often times Google will give more "love" to the .org, than they will the .com!

Your dot me domain can rank just as high as a dot com or dot org. Plus, the .me extension may have good resale value since Godaddy and others are big promoters of the .me extension.

Yes, but the average searcher inputs the a keyword in the the search field, not the url.

I personally wouldn't buy any domain that isn't .com .net. org because average people who know the internet will try those extensions first, then the others, if they've even heard of them.
