Why? Whats wrong with promoting info products to people who are looking
to make an income from home. Informative customers are known to be serial
refunders who don't even give the product a fair try.

Yeah, I would probably be the last person on this forum
to ever advise you to use SEO!!

Instead look at the top ranking sites and the advice
they offer-- the places they direct their visitors to.
Fortune, eHow, whatever they are (don't know these days).
Most of them have a "Top 10 Ways" or "7 Weird Ways
to make money" ranked pretty high, and in the generic
articles they refer people to everything from PTC sites
to Etsy... and of course those original sites depend on
ad revenue, so check whose advertising is popping up
there and you will find more places that "newbies"
are first going.

They usually end up on someone's list shortly after
that, and then in several more after the first waves
of Solo Ads. Soon they are in Safelists and forums
and by the time they find a beginner/intermediate
place like the Warrior Forum, they are frustrated
and usually poorer than when they started.

  I used to make a couple hundred weekly from video marketing but back then I was a newbie and was just sending my traffic to a sales page and wasn't building a list. Now my traffic source doesn't work anymore cause more than half are

One of the best ways, just make your own list. You create ideally create an information product which is targeted to Newbies in internet marketing.

You could easily make a book, or have this outsourced and offer for free to newbies or sell and make money whilst making the list

Been there done that. I've sent them to an OTO, gave them something for free
with tremendous value and nobody is serious to take action and invest.
I'm just tired of spending money into advertising only to get the tire kickers.

Use Facebook paid ads to get people to your page
provide good info and interaction
entice people with "a project you are working on"
Then promote your website with your page.
Facebook ads are cheaper to promote pages. If people like your page and follow the funnel from your site, chances are you are going to get quality traffic.

My friend the big issue in online selling bar none is getting targeted traffic and loads of it and sustaining it. You buy it or you can organically grow it , there is no one magic solution for every one.

If the answer were so freely available to everyone in this no so secret forum. We would all be multi millonaires and the membership fee would be in the hundreds of thousands every year ,.

The law of business is that the cream and the lucky rise to the top while every one else scratch their heads and try to feed off the crumbs.

Traffic .. no easy answer .. except if you have the money buy it!!

Just go to places where it is already at and get
some of it for yourself. Do it a lot, and learn

I a working on 4 non IM niches at the moment .. we are just going to let them grow organically for the longterm. We see them as longterm investments in internet real estate.

I've tried dipping in other niches but have been unsuccessful in the process.
Only real money I've made has been in Internet Marketing but I haven't
mastered how to make consistent sales every day.

I did commit completely with internet marketing and I wasnt making any money any more with it so I went to the Warrior Forum for help and they
said advertise something targeted to what you have a lot of traffic for. I
did that and wasn't getting any traffic for it. What I did get traffic from
and sales was internet marketing stuff.

I feel your pain . There other interest that you have that can make money.

play with keyword tools to find niche markets where they are experiencing bad ass pain.

I mean they need a solution and now

What you need is to take a general keyword where the big boys with million to spend dominate and do a key word search

drill down on various keywords to find a niche between 1500 and 20 000 searches a month usually a longtail one.

Put that key word into google search engine and have a look at the competition through seo quake. If you find that those site ranking at the top are just review sites and low page rank sites and that there is decent interest on the right for google adwords ads , then you have a money key word.

Optimise your home pages , forget about meta tags just concentrate on site name short and memorable and about tyour subject matter and concentrate on title and description tages. Don't overdo the keyword density, just writed intelligently about the subject matter.

Then buy a few sites PR2 or 1 at a cheap price ( redo them to make them relevant to your subject matter on your main site) and have them all backlink to your main site.

Then back link the internal pages

Honestly for a journeyman .. IM is the worst nichce to cut your teeth in. This comming from a top notch business consultant ( me, in case anyone is wondering).

As hot as it is it is so terribly competitive and you are competing against the best of the best in IM.

I WOULDN'T TOUCH IT... not yet anyhow

Cut your losses and try something else .. though u might get lucky ... risky

I know it seems like that to a lot of people. Even people
who are not Newbies.

The only reason I can think of that people come to this
conclusion is that they are spending all of their time on
IM forums and blogs and are signed-up in a bunch of MMO
lists...

It is so elementary, but so many people MISS THIS!!!!

Everyone is an expert at something.. Really they are.

You have hobbies, interest, dislikes, beliefs, convictions, charities, loves, etc etc.

I tried to make money with MMO... I mean its the hot thing right? Anyway, I failed totally and 100% failed. My wife got into an MLM that she really believes in, she loves the product, and is excited to talk about it. To me, it's just jewelry, but to her its an opportunity.

She made almost $300.00 in her first five days....

She has a hot product... a hot market.. and is kicking my butt compared to what I was making with MMO!!

The hobbies and interest I have never have an affiliate program for. I have
millions of views on youtube videos for hip-hop videos and I dont get clicks
anymore. It doesnt help half of the people are watching the vids on their
cell phones now and dont see my ads.

I do. Times has changed and what has worked for me in the past doesn't work
anymore so I have to search for targeted traffic sources now. I don't really
trust solo ads, seems too good to be true. My goal is to have my own product
but how can I have my own product if I haven't mastered affilate marketing.
It would be silly to have my own product if I can't even sell high converting
products.

Do your own product cory rudl taught me that or at least his staff did all those yeas ago . Then you can have your own affiliate program . I made money out of a crude product and crude self written copy 8 years ago believe me those lessons cost 10 grand

You need to re-think your definition of "commit completely"
because if you knew what the really meant, you would still
be working in the other niche... Sounds like you probably quit
three feet from gold.

I would like to know two things at this point. First, what was
the niche? And secondly, how is it that you didn't have traffic
for the niche you were working in, but you did somehow have
traffic for "IM stuff"?

I was advertising on the same hip-hop videos. I tried advertising a beat making software for a week and i only got about 6 clicks. I tried ringtone offers nothing. But advertise an im product about making money online I'd get a few
hundred clicks easy but none take action anymore. And hip-hop is in. It's so
easy to get viral videos with music videos.

And I don't want to go out and make a product and waste my time promoting
it and investing hundreds of dollars into it not to mention all the money for programs if it wont produce sales for me. Right now I can't afford to make
my own product anyways. I need to make some money in affiliate commission
then save that then go from there.

Same places as normal traffic - Facebook, Twitter, commenting, forums, ppc, web 2.0, pinterest, Google, etc....

No freebie seekers? Well, you will have to filter those people out - the easiest way to do that is to charge people for something. Those that buy aren't freebie seekers!

1. Newbies are almost all broke, which is why they're trying to learn to make money (duh!)

There are plenty of advance methods to generate laser targeted traffic but the question is do you have a budget..There is no free laser targeted traffic without hard work. You can jump straight to PPC but that requires some sort of experience.

Well, you don't say...

Creating videos and putting them up on you tube is a proven winner.

I get a lot of traffic that way. Google will allow you to post the videos for free on their site and that is not all, you get a portion of the money that they make from ads that are running. I saw a canon 3Ti selling on ebay for $400 yesterday and this is a 1080 full HD pro camera.

The cost of creating videos is near zero. I would pay for some background music. However, you can get some for free from video blocks as well as an intro to your mini movie.

Lighting is easy. Go to home depot and get a work lamp for $29.95 now get going!

I've said this from day 1, mostly my traffic I'm generating is curious traffic and
not desperate traffic and it's mostly from teenagers who don't have a credit
card. I just wished I could generate the YouTube views in another niche
besides music videos.

Send plenty of targeted, qualified traffic to a good offer.

If the OP or anyone else is struggling with this, then
1. He should not be in the IM/MMO niches teaching other people
to run in circles like a chicken with no head.

What works for some people, doesn't work for others... It's all about the mindset... Don't chase the money, let the money come to you... It's all about preferences too.. I prefer video as, they are quick to produce and easy to distribute across the internet but, I also like to write articles or, re-hash PLR when I get a chance...

I too am a newbie into the IM/MMO niche but, it is all about the value that you deliver that really counts and keeps your visitors coming back, not trying to drive traffic to the next "scam" artist who is telling you that you can make $25,000 in 7 mouse clicks or less....

So, if you're interested, go to "Make $25,000 in 7 mouse clicks or less.com"... LOL

No, seriously, as I said before, only trial and error will tell you what works for you and, whatever doesn't appear to convert, get rid of it and try to live by the 80/20 rule...

80% of your visitors will come from 20% of the work
20% of your visitors will come from 80% of the work

Solo ad is a great way of getting traffic. Everyone has an email and most people have it hooked to their phone. They check it often. A good solo ad with the right provider is very effective.

What about digging more into what it is that your market wants. Find that out in more detail, and market TO THAT. That's marketing 101

You get newbie traffic the same place you get any other traffic...
- forums
- facebook
- twitter
- google
etc etc....

Once they arrive to your squeeze page or blog - give them a free gift that will get them to sign up to your list. Once there over deliver with great value - giving them solutions to problems they need.

After this you then can promote products (better if you buy first) that they can buy. If you have genuinely tried to help solve their problems in the IM niche - they will more then likely be happy to buy what you are offering.

In summary - over deliver great value to solve your prospects needs, then promote products you have tested your self and know 100% that your list will benefit from it.
